One of the best performing cars I have driven for the value. Moving forward with getting new fog lights, lower grills and new bumper cover painted. Waiting on new mirror covers to arrive and be painted to match the car. Also did, M3 mirrors, M3 steering wheel with paddles and rear spoiler upgrade. Did the 4 piston 340mm front caliper upgrade with steel braided brake lines front and rear. Ohlins suspension and complete suspension rebuild with upgraded oem bearing vs bushing upgrade for the suspension is coming soon. Should tighten the car up significantly. Defiantly going to be a fun slot car when completed.

Glued on last night. Going to let it set till this afternoon. Modified the applicator so I could put a small bead around the mating surface of the spoiler. Inserted the applicator from a tube of RTV. Worked perfect. Test fit and practice taped, then did the final install. Installed perfect without excess oozing out. Letting it set till this afternoon for the the unveiling.

All the prep work paid off. Little to none for clean up. To seal the the front edge of the spoiler, mask it off and use the left over sealer to make the front edge uniform. When pulling the tape off, pull the tape back 180* so it leaves you a clean edge. I used brake clean on my finger to wipe over the sealer to make it uniform and even After I removed the tape. Just kept doing int over and over till I achieved the look I wanted. Then wiped the deck lid with a damp cloth.

Almost ready to turn it up. Been working on controlling crankcase pressure. Pulls hard to 6,500 in 5th, ran out of road. Engine is happy, idles smooth, crisp and smooth on acceleration. Waiting on correct hoses for the PCV high/low system, then going to install upgraded ATM intercooler.

Tried my hand at headlight lens refurbishment. They were oxidize, rock chipped, and yellowing.
*Started with 220 wet sanding to get the roc chips out, then to 350 wet sanding and then to 1500 wet sanding.
*Used car polisher with fine pad, liquid rubbing compound and polished till mirror finish.
*For final finish, used polisher to apply liquid Carnauba wax.

I have done this a few times on various cars with great results. But the results just don't last unless you commit to a long term effort of protecting them. The deterioration accelerates dramatically once the protective coating is fully removed.

A UV clear coat is highly recommended.

Taking the headlight assemblies in tomorrow to get cleared with UV rating. Been working away on the car, replaced the pan gasket, engine mounts and upgraded them. Also installed an ATM intercooler. While apart cleaned the sub assembly with Muriatic Acid, which cleans and makes the parts look like new. 2 of the bolts were snapped off from a previous gasket replacement. Able to get them out luckily, with no issues.

Looking great!

What is the techinique to clean with the acid? Diluted and use a sprayer? Brushed on?

ventilator and other PPE?

This stage is complete and what an improvement. Motor mount upgrade noticeable, engine vibration at idle, but not to where I want remove them. Used a piece o 1/4” brake line tubing for the coolant line going across the top of the radiator to bleed the coolant system, mine was cracked. Headlights are cleared with an automotive UV rated paint, so hopefully no yellowing over time and installed new headlight hood seals. Also, ATM intercooler installed and new transmission mounts. Car is impressive and you better have it pointed where you want it to go. Next will be complete Ohlins suspension which I bought from Barry at 3DM.

Lots of great work! Loving the mirrors and the spoiler. :)

I need to do that motor mount install as well; have RevShift mounts that are a bit much for my tush.

Car is getting some more love. Ordered Bluetooth MHD adapter and short cap for it. The module will stay in the OBD port and the factory OBD cover will go back on. Precision Raceworks coils and new spark plugs also ready to go on.
