It is close.

The car was caught in the recent cyclone we had here. Motor swallowed a massive gulp of water and the interior took in about 4inches deep.

Its a salvage car for scrap and dismantling now according to my insurance. Id just bought new et streets for it.

I flushed the engine and it runs. Little smokey occasionally and the map sensor failed completely. So i might load the slicks on for one last trip to the strip to see if itll do a 9 even hurt as it is.

The car is a gay track car. Not fast enough to warrant not being a street car anymore so it will be parted out and scrapped.

Sad but thats lyf

Ah damn that sucks man. What are you going to get into next?

I bought a 34gtr as the prices are going mental at the moment.

But I'm thinking I'll part the e90 and build something old school aussie with a turbo LS and glide. cops tend to pick on old aussie muscle a lot less.

gtr can keep the dust off the garage floor for a few years.

ya'll just jealous! haha

I'll be sure to sell it to one of you lot in 9 years or whatever you gotta wait lol.

I put a customers 3.5bar TMAP in as my 4 bar had failed completely after sucking in water.
The stereo plays up a shitload but man it still fuckin hammers. transbraked a pair of tires into oblivion in the local industrials, So I guess it should hold together for one last pass. hopefully.

My girlfriend is in Perth right now, reminded me, did you make it back out or did you give up?

It snapped an axle a while back.
I have seen the engine parts at someone else's house on a palette.

So, I resold the 34gtr and started my own business so things have been a little busy, but I did find enough spare time to piece my car back together. So this might see an update in the near future.

I ended up buying a clean title 335i e90 sedan bare bones shell from a local wrecker. (already BSM as well!) so as time consuming as it was, I set about transferring absolutely everything that was left from the e90 into the new shell. doors, wiring, carpet, panels, drive train etc. So i could have it registerable once again.

I also had sold basically all of my setup bare the glide and long motor. So I searched from some parts to rebuild it all.

basic run down is the same as before, but with a GTX4202 garrett turbo, and full 3.5" dump and exhaust now. (the old setup could only fit a 3" dump past the column) bigger better intercooler, same forward facing plenum, jb4 pi with 1000cc port injectors, high power wastegate with a 25psi base spring, full 3" intercooler piping (was all 2.5" last time), twin walbro bucketless setup with external fpr and dedicated lines.

the last setup was very rushed and there was a lot of things I could have made a lot better and more refined, so I guess this time round I just wanted a neat looking bay in my daily driver.

Just waiting on my coil harness to arrive from bimmerlife for the VAG coils and I should be able to turn it up (missfires over 25psi)

I forgot how much fun this car was with the glide setup (roll on power skids into top gear wherever you go) I plan on using this car every day, there is an e85 servo 1 street from my workshop, and as I'm about to have a baby this is the only car I have that can house a baby seat. So hoping to iron out any issues and give it a birthday with a CIC upgrade and piano black interior trim and hopefully some LCI headlights.

Will try hit the track soon and try not to break another axle. I have a spare pair now, but I'll probably look into doing a z33 diff swap in the near future and some DSS axles so I don't have to worry about them breaking whenever the DR's are on.

here are some pics of it all back together :D wish me luck n54 guys!

Damn, glad to see you back in the saddle, we need to see 9's broken ASAP.

Also, I have always liked the Piano Black trim, but am a bit afraid of how dirty it can get. Do you intend to have the trim painted yourself or does someone make these aftermarket? The OE trims are stupid pricey, particularly for me with iDrive and hard top.

Once these coil packs get here I'll get it ready to go for a 9.

I was just gonna purchase a whole set from ebay tbh. I need a trim for the CIC anyway. seen some RHD one floating around the uk. I gotta fix my stereo so I might try see how well they take to powder coat or 2k paint when I have it all out and it might work out a bit cheaper.

4202 isn't that big, it doesn't drive much differently now than when I had the gtw3884.

pretty keen to get it back to the track.

Maybe we are talking about two different gtx4202r.
The Garrett gtx4202r is 1200hp 75mm turbo.
PRODUCT SPECIFICATIONS:
* Compressor Wheel Inducer: 75.8mm
* Compressor Wheel Exducer: 102.3mm
* Compressor Wheel Trim: 55
* Compressor Housing: 60 A/R
* Turbine Wheel Inducer: 82mm
* Turbine Wheel Exducer: 75.1mm
* Turbine Wheel Trim: 84 trim

GTW3884
PRODUCT SPECIFICATIONS:
* Compressor Wheel Inducer: 67.3mm
* Compressor Wheel Exducer: 84.4mm
* Compressor Wheel Trim: 64
* Turbine Wheel Inducer: 74.2mm
* Turbine Wheel Exducer: 64.6mm
* Turbine Wheel Trim: 76
* Compressor Housing is T04S Frame with 4" inlet, 2.5" outlet, and built-in & machined anti-surge.

Gtw3884 is a 6765 while the gtx4202r is a 7575. That's a huge difference.
