Any strong feelings one way or the other on a 2008 E60 M5?

I have a great 2008 535xi. Just thinking of switching things up a bit and getting into that v10.

Other than the usual e60 stuff, what would I need to do on that engine?
Valve stems? Leaks?

The transmission gonna be a problem?

I think I'm reading this S85 engine does not have the valve stem seal issues, etc?

Problems with the SMG trans worked out by 2008 or is that a problem to be ready for?

Oil analysis for the rod bearings (if they havent already been replaced), along with an inspection of the throttle body actuators. The smg as much as manual fans dont like to admit (myself included) is the better option for that motor. That being said, the pumps will need to be replaced if they havent already been changed out. The rest is routine maintenance; water pump and thermostat, ETC

Your car probably has some strong feelings about being replaced for it's sexier hotter sister. Maybe you and your car need counseling, we'd rather keep you here :)

VANOS pump, SMG pump, throttle body actuators, and rod bearings... Most have robust aftermarket replacements, though I'm not sure about the SMG pump. I know there are people swapping the getrag 7-speed dct in however.
