Oooo, second call just came in too. Compressor housing will be ready tomorrow! Pic for reference, but this should look good with the coating on the hot parts.

Hot parts look spectacular. I'll mock them up tonight and take some pics.

I also haven't done a real update here in a while (as pointed out by @doublespaces hahaha), and I need to. The entire front end is dissembled right now and I've been scrubbing the engine compartment. New VC is on, walnut blasted, steam washed, etc.

I didn't need to completely rip the front end apart, but the VC leak made me want to clean everything really good. And I have always had that wierd gap between the bumper and hood that I needed to address. So I'm attacking all that, plus the ST conversion, plus the fueling upgrade at the same time.

It's not like I just finished putting the drivetrain back together or anything :tearsofjoy:

OK, so my official update. I literally have the entire front of the car off:

I did this firstly to facilitate cleaning the entire engine due to the cracked valvecover I had:

Secondly to make it super easy for a walnut blast and intake work:

And also to make installing the fuel system easier:

So with a clean engine compartment I heat wrapped the SNOT out of everything:

And decided it was time to test fit the kit:

I did the testfit for a couple reasons. First so I could finally see some progress on what I have tearing apart all this time. And second so I can try different install steps to see the smoothest way to get this 10lbs of shit shoved into that 5lb bag. It is tricky for sure but @DOC_Race has made a killer kit that fits like a freaking glove. No problems AT ALL.

The VTT Shotgun on the other hand is a bit less polished (pun intended). It fits well but the details are lacking. Wrong length bolts shouldn't have been sent out. The LPFP lines are a bit...cheap. And there is some flashing/burs that could have been taken care of on the mount.

I'm also waiting on an oil drain fitting from @Omar@VaderSolutions as I am converting all the hot-side lines to -AN fittings and SS line (we need more bling obviously). And the next three weeks I am out of town *every single weekend* :disrelieved:.

As such I'm taking my sweet time...I'll enjoy some fresh Colorado mountain air with the family for 4th of July. And after that I'll be hitting up @jyamona and @V8bait for an IKM0S (1M DME) flex fuel ST flash tune.

For those just tuning in, without historical context as to why I'm converting to the 1M dme it is so I can unlock MDrive and M Dynamic Mode since I just finished up a full M3 drivetrain conversion:

You should come do some work on my car when you're getting that Colorado mountain air.

When you get a chance, mock up the steering rack so you can see what adjustments need made to the lines. Would be much easier to do out of the car.

 what is left of those fenders holding up the engine support bar?

We will be doing this soon with my son's wrecked 335. Removing the whole front.

Upper frame rails. The fenders are just ornamental decoration, the frame rails they bolt to have all the strength.

Any notes to help install the race intercooler? Any trimming needed?

My bumper is all off already, so it should be relatively easy, just want to make sure. And I don't mean piping, I can figure that part out.

Moreso did you just use the two factory screws, any trimming needed, and anything else you can think of?

Thanks!

There is a huge amount of trimming for the race cooler. I can post some pics of mine tonight or tomorrow.

So I have started re-assembly last night. Enough with the disassembly, cleaning, and prep work. Time to start moving in a positive direction!

Fabrication skills aren’t my forte, but here is my idea of a power steering resivoir relocation bracket using factory mounting points:

Coolant overflow tank is going where the PS pump normally goes. Because a giant turbo is going where the coolant overflow normally goes.

Gotcha. That doesn't sound good for turbo response or spool, but I guess if Supra is what you're going for, more power to ya!

Powerband is being shifted on this car. When done with the headwork and valvetrain the redline will be 8500rpm. The rear diff is already spinn-a-choochin' at 3.15 instead of 2.56. So when you look at this from a complete build, the responsiveness will be exactly the same as stock...it's just all the spinn-a-choochin' is happening at a higher amount across the board.
