So he's got a heat exchanger up front with fans? In addition to a trans cooler up front, an oil cooler in stock location and then he apparently also keeps the PPK V2 radiator on the driver side... Interesting. I'd like to see how much that actually helps, but I can't help but think there are cases when his IAT is actually worse when not using ice, not to mention he had to customize pretty much everything. Not for someone like me who likes to keep factory fit and finish.

Sometimes I wonder if the Russians do things "just because"...

Most of the builds I've seen are how much money can I throw at this car.

Well the heat exchanger should be in front of everything else, so it gets high flow ambient air. His IAT's are probably rock solid, within 10* of ambient.

I'm just trying to identify everything he's got on there. After a long drive or sitting parked, heat soak has to be killing him without the ice. Thats why he's got all that tape/wrap everywhere. He looks to have designed some kind of barrel style core where the chargepipe goes, exactly as I've always suggested. And his tank is a very tiny one and it sits above the engine. So when he doesn't have ice in it, the heat exchanger is cooling the engine bay temps as well as the intake temps. This does not seem like an efficient system to me in a non race situation. If there is ice inside, I'm sure its great. Water tank needs to be in the trunk or off to the side away from the heat somehow IMO.

He just needs more heat tape.

It took me a minute to realize the car wasn't smoking just steaming from outside temps. F'n snow on the ground and car set up to race in a volcano. Need to step up my IAT game I guess.

Something not mentioned is the A.C. system. They make 12v compressors to pump freon instead of the belt driven. I don't remember all the details but they use it to cool the air to water cooler.

There's no benefit while driving yes but when it is track day it's perfect, there's a reason why majority of cars in drag week have this setup works while driving and no down fall besides a little more weight
Please take the floor, explain to all of us how this set up is going to work exactly on your track days, also please include a parts list with pricing, fabrication required, everything that its going to take to convert your N54. No the frankenturd Russian car with shit stuffed under the hood doesn't count.

As for Drag week. Yes there is a reason race cars use these, your N54's are not race cars, That you just compared cars running 7 or 8 second 1/4 mile times to N54's running 12's as a reason to add an ATW set up is quite funny

Kens blown motors, built motors and have personally seen the crazy amount of cash, time and effort dumped in to that car. Quit being a miserable condescending douche to the entire platform and hashtag dumbass can take the same advice. :kissingheart:

Um what? Yes people ATW is going to solve all your problems, you will instantly run 10 second quarters, and up your 1/2 mile traps by 10MPH. I retract all my previous statments, now show us these ATW builds on your street cars!

Well I run A2W on my Fiero, a street car, but really the only reason for that is because with the rear mount engine A2A is impractical.

Yeah I had a A2W setup in My MR2 but for the 335i it's impractical. Just get the biggest A2A intercooler you can get and stuff it in there. You can use AD-ENGINEERING or VRSF and call it a day

Obviously I don't have a answer to the first part due to I'm only inquiring. But obviously running air through ice will cool it down that's just science and will obviously lower iat and so on.

I think you missed the point I was trying to make. Those cars drive on the street for miles then make redicously fast passes. Why won't these benefit from it if it works for them. But hey what do I know

Nelson Racing Engines XRAM drool. But agreed with most here, for the e9x/e8x chassis the W2A is just impractical.
