And how are you measuring "longevity?" Are you getting an analysis done of the oil or simply a doing a visual inspection of the filter?

I remain skeptical about this as I've never had a problem with a Mann filter.

Not really sure this deserves an all caps subject marked "technical."

Neil (feeling curmudgeonly)

I should’ve disclosed this more but i’m not A rocket scientist my guy and i’m not doing testing in a lab or anything “scientific”,

im just another enthusiast who got a opportunity to try out this new filter for individual feedback testing,

As I’ve stated before im not getting anything out of this other than enjoyment and sharing my opinion of another oil filter option for us N5X guys.

As far as “longevity testing” i honestly thought this filter would fall apart around the top/bottom pleats and/or collapse on itself by the next oil change,

that’s mainly what im looking forward to finding out first,

I’m sure I could do a oil analysis fairly cheap ,

however I’d have to switch back to a Mann after to compare apples to apples oil analysis so to say.

After seeing and feeling the amsoil filter my initials thoughts and concerns have changed , Im impressed overall with the quality and stiffness compared to the Mann.

Mann has been my go to but i think that will change after I confirm this filter can hold up without “failure” physically.

i’m not too worried about filtration capabilities im positive amsoil won’t have a issue with that!

The guy is doing this for his own benefit and has decided to be kind enough to share his opinions, views, etc. He isn't trying to compare 20 filters and tell us what's best. He isn't trying to sell something. He's just being open and sharing.

Why do we keep trying to beat him up?

@BoostedE90 I don't think the filter will fail. Amsoil has a good reputation for a reason. As for their marketing wank...well, it's about as accurate as any other marketing department's spin and twist on their version of the truth.

I'm betting you'll find nothing out of the ordinary but the end conclusion will be "Why spend 2x as much on Amsoil when Mann does the exact same thing for 1/2 the price?".
Thanks for the kind words,

Yes I’m sure pricing may be a concern to many people, but i’m really not here to get people change what filter they use based on price , only give my perspective of another choice.

Maybe in the future we can get more data from others who have the scientific capability to prove which is better at filtration

I have no way currently to prove it will filter better than the Mann and i’m sure that’s what everyone really wants to know
