Hello everyone, I need some help please,
Car is a 2009 n54 AT i replaced my stock heat exchanger for the transmission with an 25row Setrab auxiliary cooler! Now I wanted to upgrade my stock radiator to a CSF unit and figured I could go with an MT CSF Radiator since it’s about $100 cheaper and don’t have a heat exchanger for the AT anymore! But here my question it looks like the AT cars have 2 hoses going to the passenger side of the radiator the lower supply hose and another hose coming from the water neck pipe (pump to block) is the smaller hose just a separate feed line for the AT heat exchanger! I’ll attach a picture and I’m talking about hose #10!

TIA

One port is from the water pipe that exits the hot side on the block and the other is from the return hardline line to the T-stat.
youll need these part numbers to install the MT radiator:
17127548229
11537558522

alternatively,
you could weld the water bung shut on your original pipe.
Thats what I did.

I had to have the hard line out of the way for trans cooler lines and a shotgun fuel pump.
I ran a 1" radiator hose (1" IIRC) across the subframe secured it with mounting clamps where the old AT hard line was, attached 1" hose directly to the hoses that were attached to the hard line on each end/secured em with ear clamps.

Weld that bung.

Curious, which way is the water flowing through this hose? I never took the time to look at it and figure it out.

I am on a fence to delete the oem AT heat-exchanger and run air-oil cooler with T-stat + fan (switched by temp sensor, placed to on oil line coming from the AT).
Could I use the "unused" water lines to incorporate air-water auxiliary cooler? I would place it horizontally in the driver side too (air in from the front, exiting air down-holes below with an aid of a fence on the underside of the plastic tray to get some extra suction when moving).
The cooler I have around is quite small, like 10x10x1'' so it probably does not do any good as it would be too small? Or? Taken that the place is there, lines are open/free to use?
