Ending up making 30 more ft/lbs at the rear wheels with the new exhaust setup. We still need more fuel to make more power.

Do you know where the fuel limitation is coming from? (I would guess HPFP but I’m fairly new to the BMW diesels)
Any chance there are “bolt on” parts from the EU 535D or M550D that would offer a significant improvement?

I'm somewhat curious about this, but in the realm of HPFP on the N57 it is the Bosch CP4 (4.2 specifically). In the truck world, known as the "ticking time bomb." The truck guys have bypass kits (it is a recirculatory system) to prevent damaging the whole fuel system should they self destruct (my N57 did), or CP3 (prior gen HPFP) retrofit kits.

I've not looked at the euro diesels to see if they run a different HPFP. I'd be surprised since Cummins, Powerstroke, Audi, BMW big motors all run the Bosch CP4. Maybe a different auxillary support pump?

We couldn't leave it alone. On our dyno we noticed that the intercooler was getting pretty hot and with heat a by product of power and heat can kill power we have custom fabricated a larger intercooler for our application. After the fabrication and install we were able to tell a huge difference in the temperature when performing testing on our dyno.

We started off with a core and custom fabricated the end tanks and tubes. I'll let the photos tell the rest.

Awesome project! Best way upgrade cp4 is to take 50d pump part number 0445010672. It allow you rise railpressure to 2200bar an it's capable around 500hp. You need just change highpressurelines from pump to rail or make shims between line and pump. I think US 535d is identific EURO spec 530d but you guys have 535d bigger injectors.

I have here in Finland f31 330d 190kw with wagner cooler, 3" turbo back exhaust, dpf/egr "swirl flaps" deleted, moded intake, stage 2 Snowperformance w/m with 100/175ml injectors. Tomorrow I'll install ported&polished exhaust manifold and Proturbo hybrid turbo, there is also 50d pump and 35d bigger injectors wating for install. Have them wait for spring that I got time to spend in dyno.
