No so far I have not found any problems, I too also installed a Supra pcv metal valve inside the AN orb fitting in the catch can. The boomba valve protects it from boost and the. The valve lays sideways not up and down. Didn't want to insert gravity on it if it wasn't designed that way. So gay so good. I have noticed my afrs are way more steady at cruise speeds.
So you are running 2 valves then. First is just a one way valve to stop boost getting to the pcv valve and catch can. Then next inline is pcv before the catch can? Is that correct?
Shouldnt just running the pcv valve alone is enough to stop the catch can from being pressurised? Because thats how the stock pcv valve works from my understanding.
Or you just add the extra valve for extra safety? And you were saying you have high crankcase vacuum at idle when engine is warm, so that wasnt causing any issue?

Thx

Yup you sang it back to me exactly how I have it and the reasons I have it like that!

I did have too much vacuum in the crack case with the flapper in for some reason. You could hear it whistling past the crank seal. With the flapper out and the usual adapter from Ade or the like it works perfect. I have the high side routes to an air filter to get rid of some stink. I just ordered on the BF sale the vtt oil cap breather jaun. Just a little extra insurance that's all.

My entire goal from day one has never been a drag car or race car, more so a reliable fast street car. As we all know the reliable part is the hard part lol

So boys and girls what I have learned from direct port meth so far... I got the system set up it's 160cc per cyl plus a devil's own 7 in the charge pipe. At first I thought I had all the air out but hade to run about 2 gal through the pump shaking the car to pieces while bleeding that's how much air. So I was able to take it out this weekend and do some pulls, it smokes them in third no problem on PSS (which suck) but none the less on less boost it's a monster. I wasn't expecting anything like this ill be real I just wanted a safer more accurate delivery and had no clue it would be this much a performance increase. Idk if having steady even timing across the board is really making that much a difference but it really is just super smooth šŸ‘Œ. I'm really proud of my work and how it turned out and can't wait the get the vrsf 7.5 race core in it and some r888r's all the way around and let her rip and get a proper bef! Just very Happy right now I have zero leaks of any kind and it's running like a raped ape!!!!

So I wanted to add some pictures of my meth set up that I'm getting messages about so you guys can see instead of me trying to explain. I got some 1/2 inch gasket making cord of epdm rubber to ditch the vacuum nipples I originally used to apply pressure to the nozzles with the fuel rail. This is a much more stout solution. I also loctited all the compression fittings. It's a must with the aquamist compression fittings they were all loose (not leaking though( in only 100 miles at most. I'm very very pleased with the aquamist design and in the pics you can see the nozzle I chose that are for VAGs with a similar set up.

So had a misfire and was positive it was ignition but thought those days were over with. Pulled cyl 4 out and holy carbon tracking!!! Inside the coil was tons of built up electrolysis corrosion and all 6 plugs showed corrosion on the tips and carbon tracking. I did the modification to the coils that other have done and I can confirm they snap over the plug now. This isn't a knock on bimmerlife could but more an extra step that is needed that was unfortunately not seen right away... What's even more Impressive is that the car pulled and idle stringer than ever before jumping 2 gaps. A real testimonial of how powerful they are. I installed new n55 plugs with factory gap and have yet to take her out due to weather but idle is night and day and free revving in the garage it sounds like a different engine and revvs are way quicker and more healthy sounding. Can't wait to get it out set up correctly!

I think the best fix for Alex instead of modding every coil he sells would be to make an extension that snaps into the vag coil to extend it. They are very hard to get them all to snap down the inch lower or so they now go.

I can see that extension getting stuck in the plug well though don't you think?

Yea I already thought of that but it doesn't need to flip into the plug just make contact maybe with a spring of sorts. That factory coils just make contact so I'm sure it should work. Hell my car ran great jumping a double gap lol

So took the car out today and still had a misfire number 4. Coil was trashed. I modified a new coil and she pulls like a freight train. I have the pure stg2 at 25psi and can't wait to see what they do tuned in the spring!

Where can I get the sleeve you used on those 4mm PTFE hoses?

Bmwfixerguy1 -

Just came across this terrific thread. Are you using dual Radium oil catch cans? Thanks.

Looks pretty damn good!

Didn't realize you'll reply so fast
I deleted cuz it's irrelevant to your thread.
Ok, let me re-post here.
Aquamist ftw.

What size nozzles are you using?
I need to add a second to the charge pipe I don't have enough.. wanna get to around 1650cc and I'm at 1200

I have a single DO7 in the CP now and plan to switch over to two aquamist nozzles in the CP to go the the 110cc in the runners x6

I have played with meth for years now and wish I switch over to aquamist long long ago! Rich is semi hard to deal with because he didn't understand us as well I think (like a culture barrier) but the product is too notch, I've put together my fair share of meth systems and I always plan for leaks.. first try with a completely bonkers one off system with untested kit on my car and not a single leak yet..

I did go back over the compression threads and lock tite them because they were getting loose.

I'm using a 110cc nozzle per runner and a 220cc one at the charge pipe, all internally check valved just as recommended by Aquamist for my HP goal (up to 450whp).
Also, I'm using a mix of ethanol and water, 70:30 by weight, basically rubbing alcohol sold at the pharmacy here.
Not as effective as methanol but it's so much safer to handle and no mixing is required, like the BoostJuice.

Aquamist has been around for a long long time, like 2-30 years afaik so I understand if Richard is not as responsive as before. But he seemed to be very active on other forums, like Ford, VW, NASIOC, etc a few years ago.
Howertonengineering was very helpful with the info on their website but they stopped Aquamist support a few months ago.
I guess they have retired.

Yes, I've noticed the compression fittings are getting loose after a few months, especially where they see more heat and vibration.
I tried Loctite green in one of them and decided I'd never use it again because it was tight AF.
I had to use pliers to unscrew it and it left marks. I decided to just re-tighten them from time to time.
The last time I've checked mine was after a month and they were still finger tight so I guess the hoses aren't pushing the fittings back as much after re-tightening a few times.

So is haven't posted in a long time but I have good news and well I guess bad news lol

the good news is I have the vrsf 7.5 in and holy hell that is a beast of an Intercooler lol

i also have some r888rs all the way around. 275 rear and 245 front..

so on map 6 trying to ramp boost in up to 30lbs it's definitely the fastest car I've ever owned and ever been in for that matter. Yes ok ow there is way faster way better but I'd assume I'm over 650whp for sure and it makes my vision blurry lol.

the r888r.... Just buy them stop looking, no need for drag radials not need to compare tires just buy them and love your car again!!! I broke them loose once this Sunday in 2nd and it was a first pull at 45 deg F. Then they hooked and sling shotted my neck back lol. Just buy them and call it a damn day!

so the bad news.ihave a spec 3+ and at 30lbs clutch is slipping so I guess that's a good thing but it also remindes me that your on a stock motor be an adult and turn it down. So I did.

thinking built motor, head and cams and spec twin disk... The idea of being able to to beat the snot outta a motor and no breaky is a huge turn on lol.

idk we will see where I decide to go but the main reason for this post is just go buy some r888rs and enjoy your car, do all 4 and throw her into some corners and pretend your a race car driver for a weekend ;)

Looks great!

Sucks about clutch slipping but that's impressive you are overcoming the setup, haha. I just picked up a square setup of wheels and I am looking forward to extra traction... Advan A052... Can't imagine R888! :D
