I guess it just depends on what you'd consider affordable. I'm curious what steed can bring, but he's taken too long for me. I've already chosen a path :)
any manifold under $1500 is what I'd consider affordable. According to their facebook, the manifold was going through another revision for wastegate placement I believe. What did you go with?

Are u gonna do a build thread on ur ADE kit or is it already in? I keep bouncing back and forth between ADE and Motiv

Yes, I will. I'm contemplating going full stupid as a SpoolStreet 335i and self-sponsoring it, getting a built motor and the whole 9. But I've got a lot of other stuff on my plate at the moment so I'll probably just build it slow and keep a journal. But there will definitely be updates, dynos, etc.

I think @MOTIV Motorsport makes a great product. But for me the @AD-ENG seemed like a quality option at a more affordable price at the time. I think it might just come down to preference at this point for some.

Car is running, driving, and making lots of sexy noises. On my test drive tonight, I managed to get a pretty bad coolant leak; I forgot to secure the relocated coolant hose away from the accessory belt/pullys and it sliced a nice clean cut through the hose. Was scared because I started seeing a bunch of what appeared to be smoke coming from the engine bay. popped the hood and was instantly relived by the oh so sweet taste of coolant vapor. I had some extra hose and hose clamps in the car to make a patch to get it home.

In other news:
I'm on my base map from Motiv and hope to do my first WOT log tomorrow.

Will post pics/video...eventually lol. I'll also be making a list of extra stuff I had to buy to actually get the car running.

NICE.
Just some growing pains, once you get thru all of them tho...

I don't know how the F you got that to fit. Heat is a non issue on top mounts if things are insulated properly.

What did you do to get the hood to close?

yeah heat actually isn't that bad. Bought insulation for everything and it's doing pretty well. My manifold isn't even wrapped or coated.

Lol keep us posted I'm close to pulling the trigger since my stockers are starting smoke and rattle
my hood won't close all the way due to the compressor housing, but it will latch. I was on my way to get some gas 2 days ago, and didn't think to make the hood latch before I left out.... and it was windy....So yeah, now I need a new hood lol. Later that day, I was pulling in to park for work and started seeing more steam - another fkn coolant leak!!!! I had no time to investigate so I just said fuck it, and went into work while my whole coolant system drained lol. This time it was the radiator drain plug.
[tab]I swear BMW engineers over-complicate the simplest of parts. Why does a drain plug need to be 2 pieces and some ridiculous "winged" lock design that breaks ... why. So I'll be getting a drain plug from the stealership tomorrow.

On a positive note:
My Stg 2 @PRECISION RACEWORKS pump came in yesterday. Ill be receiving a v band gasket for the downpipe tomorrow to get rid of the small leak there. after it stops raining tomorrow I'll get everything in and take it for another spin. Upgraded my AAA coverage to "plus" for 100 miles towing this morning lol.

I know the EFR turbo have a slightly larger compressor housing then the sxe so if it don't fit for the with an sxe it certainly won't fit with the efr

Might have to go with the PTE :-( I'm not a huge fan of their turbos lol
Exactly why I didn't want one. Hear too many stories of them failing for no real reason.

If i had to do it again, I'd probably go with a Garrett GTW; Hell, I still might lol
