So been working on this build since a Ringland failed in my original motor at 655/628 on MMPS3’s. Considering the time will the MMPs was short lived, I decided to just go the single and call it a day. All assembly and work were done by Midnite Tuning in Largo, FL. Javi and his crew are top notch.
Prob going to keep the car for a while now that the motor is bullet proof and work on the drivetrain some more. 230mi on the motor running strong on WG. This weekend will be oil change and dyno. More to follow.
  • VAC Stage 3 Head (Machine work by Muscle Machine Shop Largo, FL)
  • Ferrea Valves and guides
  • Closed Deck (Midnite Tuning)
  • Weisco Pistons
  • Carrillo Rods
  • Schrick Cams
  • Stage 3 LPFP
  • Spec 3+ w/Steel SMFW
  • Speedtech Bottom Mount 6266JB
  • PR Coils
  • 7.5 HD FMIC VRSF
  • MHD+ GFB EBC w/AEM Wideband Tuned by V8Bait.

What headstuds are you using and looks like you upgraded the 9mm to 11mm studs?

Midnite did the closed deck conversion as well?

since we've seen at least a few 6266s max at 750-800whp running 30-32psi, it will be interesting to see where this motor with the Vac head and schrick cams makes that much power, at least boost wise. Most of those have been top mounts, and while I do love the speedtech setup, my only fear is backpressure from a cast log vs a tubular manifold (purely conjecture, I have no evidence it would be worse.)

Are you planning on sticking with this turbo long term and having a solid reliable 800whp at relatively low boost, or are you going to dyno, then upgrade soon to a larger turbo?

I'm hoping to see 800whp at ~22psi. That would be awesome.

Excited to see the results and quality of their work. I was looking for a shop to do some block assembly without having to send it out to ghassan although i do like how they machine their cranks with a keyway over the VTT spline lock. If I recall correctly motiv had their spline lock and still spunk the crank hub when they were doing their 1/2 mile runs with a shop car.

I too fear backpressure with stock manifold, however I wont be NLS or doing anything too crazy. An uppgraded manifold is on my list.. but not at the present time.

Turbo is def short term (purchased kit with the intent of only doing Pistons/rods and ended up going all out on the motor). This past weekend we hit 692/657 at 24psi which isnt bad, however ran into some fueling and boost leak issues. Should have it figured out this week. s/o to @V8bait with the help with the tune.

I'd imagine the 6266BB would put out +25-35 more, however i may be limited with the current set up. 800 at 22psi would be LEGIT. I have 3port Mac with 14lb spring so I'm limited at the moment. After xmas prob walk into a 6466/6766 .

any updates with dyno numbers?
So little update... car hasn’t been on Dyno since replacing flywheel. Engine has a little over 3500 miles on it and just drained the oil and things looked good so far. I slowly crept the boost up from WG (17psi) to a solid 25psi and she moves out. Traction isn’t so bad on Federal’s however once these wear, will switch to MT streets.

Also recently got hot side fab work done due to the silicone couplers popping off over 22psi and just desiring efficiency. Should be getting 3rd revision later this week.
