Definitely go Garrett do not run any PTE stuff if you plan on road racing the car. You need something that's water cooled and ballbearing. A gen 2 Gtx3076r would be the right size if you only wanted 500-550whp. No lag and excellent transient response

any thoughts of possibly using one of borg warner s300sxe series turbos? would probably drop the price a bit.

Problem with those is that the comp housing is too big. A s200sxe might fit, And retail on those is only like $600, but power is capped at a 650hp rating.

Yes and they spool slow. Kind of the opposite of the point of this kit. I’m sure if we can make it fit we can get you one but it wouldn’t perform nearly as well.

Looked into it, think the 3576 is probably going to be the baseline, 35 compressor supposedly spools faster than the 30 by some witchcraft, so see no reason for the 3076. 3576 also has flow up to 750, which would put 600whp at 80% max. Basically looks to be a good parallel to the PTE G2-6062 in terms of capacity.

Nice findings! We can absolutely add that turbo option to our build options. I think the spool on that turbo would be really good. Perfect track weapon ;)

So stoked about this kit. I talked to John for a bit and I have a feeling it'll end up on the 135i track car by the end of the year

Im super stoked as well. I'm most interested in seeing the odds n ends of the kit, like the coolant feed/return lines for the water cooled garrett based turbo, and the other hardware like gaskets, nuts, bolts, barbs, vaccum lines, if there is a mac solenoid, etc... as well as the air intake tubing and "hotside" intercooler tubing as well and of course seeing how the downpipe and wastegate dump tube turns out (which im sure will be awesome considering who the fabricator is)

In addition Im very interested to seeing how good these custom turbos are, after talking to John privately it is said they are just as good as genuine garret and only real differences will be cosmetic (basically no "garrett" name on the housing) and I don't doubt that, but seeing some data/results/people running these turbos just for re-assurance would be super nice as well!

I fully agree @Clean WHP i can’t wait to get this on the dyno and start tuning. Really excited to post numbers and show some data. We have the BETA slot filled and once we have the kit ready to send out we can get even more feedback as well.

@berns i know me too, Track season is nearing and I’ve got that familiar itch to brutalize my car lol we can show these guys what the 135 is all about ;)
