Hey all,
We successfully swapped the 135i DCT trans into my 335. When we first started the car,(pre coding) it started right up and idled fine. When we proceeded to code the GS40 with 8606092(after changing the cas and nfrms VO), it produced errors codes stating that the ecu isnt connected. We followed the wiring diagrams for the shifter and it works as it should. We are not sure where to go from here as we re checked our wiring multiple times. The only thing we could think of was that the pt can lines were swapped. Switching them didnt work.

We dont know where to go from here, so any help would be appreciated!

I got 4 errors that described the ecu not being responsive.(When i get home ill send the codes)
I changed the VO in the CAS and NFRM (deleted #090, added #0909. Deleted $205, added $2TC) No I did not default code all of the modules, Would this cause it to be unresponsive?

thank you!

Which error exactly did you get ?
What is the current VO and
Did you default code all of the applicable modules after the VO change?
What would i do code the modules, looking on google I cant find anything.

Successfully default coded the CAS NFRM IHK and KOMBI. When I try to update the gws, i get coapi 2020 no signals or reports. Wiring issue?

Figured it out, pins were switched. Now, when i try to change the zb of the gs40 i get a bunch of errors stating theres no communication. What should I try?

What errors EXACTLY are you getting? Post screenshots please?
Your coding setup does it work on other vehicles?
Are you using a battery replacement charger ?
DO you have the correct coms setup on your com port on your PC?

Its really hard to help you with almost no information about how youre going about this.

Does it attempt to flash at all and then fail? Or does it throw the error instantly?

Have you flashed any other modules with winkfp succesfully ?

It attempts to flash it, the percentage bar pops up (0%) then it throws the code. Yes I flashed to DME to the zb on the swap thread, and Ive done some alpina flashes so I know it should work. Let me ss the com ports and Ill reply to the thread with a pic.

Can you take a screenshot of your com port settings in device manager ?

second attachment is the wiring diagramI followed. All wires were checked and match exactly to that diagram.

If that's not the cause of the problem you may have a wiring issue but it could also be your TCU. Is it a known working gearbox?

yes it was from a 135i running+driving. Im gonna test the connection with ista D when i get home. Ill try and change the settings but the advanced settings screen I get looks much different.

The connection may well work but flashing the TCU needs special attention. Look at the doc it’s quite important
The advanced screen is in there somewhere

ok, ill try it. Does having IJEOS effect the zb number for the gs40? Im having a hard time finding anything online about an INAOS rom install.

My car is a sept 09 on IJEOS natively but I’m not entirely sure if the version you have is correct
You can switch ROM using MHd if you want to try others. Yours is a Coms issue between the gearbox and computer when flashing and also between your DME and your gearbox. Im trying to eliminate one leg of that equation. If you can flash the box it’s alive and wiring should be ok. We can move to other diagnosis.
