Discussion about issues encountered whilst converting to M3 Flash and GWS

Custom driveshaft took all of 20min to install. Fit like a glove. I need to go to the store and get a allen socket to replace the rear diff fluid, then it will be an exhaustless test drive!! I should have a test drive done this evening!!

Good to hear. How does it drive with the more aggressive ratio?
I really didn't notice it too much. Other than first gear goes away very quick.
The thing is I have less traction issues with the M3 LSD so the old 2.56 just lit up first gear. Now I have traction so it feels like it goes by the same haha. I also need to replace my VC as my current one cracked bad and I am way down on boost/power with that boost leak.
A high level summary of what I have learned through this process:
If you want to run Shiftlogic you need:
1. M3 GWS
2. M3 Console Trim
3. M3 8pin plug
4. M3 Shiftlogic button
5. M3 Diff/Axles/Driveshaft (3.15 gear) OR the upcoming* (@jyamona) MHD flash time option to keep your factory 2.56 diff
6. M3/GTS EKG Flash
If you want to add adjustable Launch Control you need:
1. Shiftlogic
2. M3 SZL (not needed on z435is, it has the correct SZL)
If you want MDrive you need:
1. Shiftlogic
2. Adjustable LC w/M3 MDrive SZL
3. M3 DSC
4. M1 DME Flash
Each of these steps takes progressively more effort on custom coding/flashing/etc. I am only missing the very last step (M1 DME Flash) to enable MDrive. I'll wait until I have my 6266 single on there and we will tune that single setup in as if it was an M1.

I ran some numbers based on a 265/35R18 tire... for street driving, you may not notice much. I'm worried about top end on the back straight at COTA. That means if I follow your lead with the 3.15, I'll just have to deal with running 7th out close to red line.

This setup will really come into its own with a built head and Ferra valvetrain that can run 8000rpm.
Awesome stuff @dyezak ! Congrats on making it as far as you have. Now we have the fun of tidying all of this up for those that want to go 'all the way' Open to suggestions on how we would do that? One step is to make the thread public but that shouldn't happen until the guide has all the info to prevent the inundation of various questions.

Guys, I want this section to remain private for a bit. I'll work on a first draft of a public post we can put out there for the masses in the next week or so. But you guys all contributed to this and I want you all to have the ability to put your $0.02 into the post AND get first dibs on the ebay/secondary market for any of these M3 modules that you may need to adapt this to your build(s). We can let the unwashed hordes pick through the parts after we have gotten what we want first .
