So I went and finally installed the Dodson Sportsman Plus clutchbasket that @DMS sent me quite a while back. Had I known how easy it was I would have done it sooner. In my case the transmission is dry so tilting it up was not necessary but I did it anyway in case there was some fluid left over and it is a better angle.

The first thing you have to do is take a photo of your transmission and be sure to pay attention to where the arrow on the cover is pointed. You will need to reinstall this cover in the exact same position. Now remove the cover clip, I used a screw driver and a pick:

Now get some metric bolts from home depot, ace hardware etc and thread them into these holes:

Gently pull on each one a little at a time with a small tug and the cover will slide off:

Now we have the factory clutch basket exposed:

Next, open your the military grade looking crate that Dodson sends you with the pre-assembled clutch basket. The pre-assembled basket is a really nice perk as I've heard trying to mess with the basket itself is a major pain and you know it was done correctly:

Inside you'll have a little tool that helps prevent the cover seal from being pushed backward when reinstalling:
29853

The basket comes with a clip tool so the clutches are pinned so they don't spin when installing/uninstalling:

Put the metal clip into your factory basket:
29855

Hold the lock up:
29856

Now spin the basket a few times and it will disconnect itself inside and can be removed:
29857

Then you'll be staring at this:
29858

Here they are side by side. Dodson on left, stock on right. They look very similar but it's whats on the inside that matters:
29860

29861

29862

Place the stock basket back in the cargo box:
29863

Place the Dodson basket into the transmission, insert the clip, and reinsert the basket:
29864

Install your new seal:
29865

Don't mess with the cover plate on the inside holding the bearing in unless you intend to change that too. Just grab a flat head and pry the seal out:
29866

Then press the new seal back in with your fingers:
29870

29871

Now replace the outer cover seal:
29872

Now place the install tool over the input shaft and slide the cover back on. Be sure the seal doesn't fold itself back outward:
29873

29874

Now reinstall the cover exactly in the same position that you removed it so the arrow is pointing the same direction and pop the clip back in:
29875

You're done! Ship the box with the core back to Dodson. You are also recommended to replace all seals/filters in the process and use new fluid.
