Not sure if anyone one noticed, but that's not a a block that was freshly honed out. There is ridges at the top of each cylinder, meaning this block was never machined. With the miliage that occurred , it's unlike the motor . All open decks will have an indefinite symmetrical taper to them, meaning there is always some movement especially with boosted engines. Was there a torque plate used to true the cylinders before hand, without proof of this, or the use of a micrometer, or pics of before and after, along with the pistons, this isn't a sure way to convince anyone that this is the motor that was so called overheating.

What does “a brand new engine” consist of lol? Used engines on eBay go for 2500 with decent mileage so trying to grasp what you actually had built? Just sourced all the parts for fully built bottom end for shop car and JUST THE PARTS at wholesale we’re $3450...

I got a brand new engine from Munich plant for $25k under warranty.

For everyone in here bashing Bryan, here's MMP engine failure number 2.

Seems as if another MMP motor setup has gone wrong, as noted by some postings on the main forum.

Just to recap it appears as MMP had a proclaimed 50+ builds under their belt from April to late November, putting their production of engine builds at around 1.5 engines per week. As such if production has remained constant, they should easily be on their 65th or so N54/N55 engine build by now.

As only 2 of the proclaimed 65 have publicly denounced the builds to date, the masses can deduce at least a 3% failure rate up til this point. This percentage obviously could grow tremendously if one should say that the proclaimed 65 is really 5-10 motor builds, the question thus would be "how many builds really are there out there?"

As MMP likely has a local shop perform the machining for all of their builds, it would be really nice to hear their feedback on the amount of N54/N55 engines they have performed machining on.

Did they clear 100+ rebuilds yet?

Surely they have easily crested 100 builds, at the pace they were "on" anyway.

On a more sincere note, the disgruntled MMP emails have subsided to nil over the past couple months; as such things must be doing much much better over there. Either that or there is some new warranty declination clause if RB is found to have been notified during an issue.

Well we unblocked what had been the seemingly three largest twits of the forum, those who at times seem to have very severe reading comprehension issues, only to find that so far one still does.

From our easily google-able RB Reliability and Stats thread:
https://www.bummerboost.com/showthr...-Hybrids-vs-Reliability-Update-(inc-RB-Stats)

Super RB Stealths*:
Super RB EVO 19T*:

*Product stats including all shipments from 1/1/17, at which point some build techniques were changed to improve quality, which since has successfully demonstrated a 0% failure rate to date.

Adam G. Footnotes: He had purchased his setup in 12/2015 and they failed initially 9/2016. They were repaired for $0 despite having significant traces of oiling contamination issues, only as by this point we had seen failures on these units prior (to the point where we had pulled new product sales, on these breeds only, several months prior due to high 10+% failure rates over a year).

We'd tried numerous changes, some machining, even including different turbine materials/designs/etc... and nothing helped until further fixes were made and noted as above in 1/2017. However as his 2nd setup was shipped prior to 1/2017 (without the full fixes) this lead to his next failure 4/2017 where once again we repaired for $0 which included a full turbo replacement to the 1/2017 standards. While it is true at this point his 1 year warranty was canceled (it had actually expired in 12/2016), we were taking care of him regardless post-warranty despite both setups showing signs of oil contamination- as once again we'd seen failures in these breeds in other cases prior and alongside his own.

We have not heard from him since and obviously he is currently posting about this as "if I have an issue again", thus it seems evident he seems to be fine now 2+ years later (backing up our claims of failure rates with our current longstanding portfolio). While Adam was seemingly content/courteous/respectful/understanding at the time (we do not recall ANY mention of court, etc!) and if ANYTHING was simply concerned, perhaps he feels 2+ years later is his time to vent over FB about the debacle and that is his right. On this same note we have seen these older breeds last a long time and many many miles while some may not, but he certainly was the latter. Either way this era is and has been long gone and is well disclosed within our reliability thread (as noted above).

So keep trying sir however all you will find is nothing beyond what has already been disclosed. For the past years we openly disclose literally every single case we find on a monthly basis in the reliability thread linked above with no exceptions, so check it out for your viewing pleasure. Also best of luck finding any other vendor to be this forthright, it simply will not happen, most simply try to stay away from the forums as when you stick your neck out you better have your ducks in a row (Note: We do).

PS. On another note YES it is quite humorous that several are still selling, despite high failure rates, the same issues in their turbos YEARS UPON YEARS later...

Thanks,
Rob
