A guy not long ago had a nice 335is and his blew the same exact way as mine with Pure Turbos stage 2 High Flows at exact same boost as me. 31 psi. Both of our motors blew same way after did the whole pull and then after the pull 2 seconds later when they let off the gas they said bye bye

Do you think that using the VTT Oil Cap breather would have helped prevent the blow up? It's for pressure relief correct? I am about to get V8Bait to tune my Pure Stage 2 High Flows and trying to get close to 700 as possible without destruction. I have the VTT Oil Breather cap just to add another layer of protection to the engine at super high boost.

I don't understand desire to get to 98% of theoretical capability. Lather. Blow Up. Repeat. I guess it is different strokes for different folks.

I always think about trying to get to a goal with a car in terms of how it performs as opposed to just the single dimension of power. What do you want the car to do?
700hp on the old old dyno print out doesnt mean much if someone with 100hp less is quicker in a straight line or around a circuit.
With a stock engine you are dealing with a few items that arent going to like living with 700hp cylinder pressures. Thats putting aside the miles of wear on bearings etc it might already have.
The breather isnt going to be the saviour to rod failure or a spun crank collar, these motors get unhappy with both among other things.
Go 700 , even 600 hp and you just have to be preppared to rebuild the engine at some point.

Looking forward to sleeves and forged rods and pistons. Right now, pure torque is what I am looking for. I don't track or race, just like the push back to the seats from stop light.

I had the vtt breather for oil cap too bro. It blew but not cause of the bullcrap I though it did. My transmission was slipping so hard and 3 days before the dyno recorded 7500 rpms... which send the motor to the moon on dyno day and it just didnt survive. Too high rpms a little too many times. Had Rods custom tune was good just dont do the ecu shift points but the flash alone is good.

Holy moly... engine losing transmission resistance and running unfettered....I can only imagine the runaway effect!

If anyone wants to see the action of where your turbos are made, here is the living room of the Turbo Townhouse Compound
I think you may be talking about an imposter. I purchased and installed a set of twin stage 3 825rs and I am pleased i also will post a dyno pull and track time. But in the mean time I can vouch they are not built in a living room lol. Shawn sent me pictures during the build of my turbos.

So far v8Bait's tune at 28psi on my Pure S2 is rock solid. It's been over 6 months. If your car is well maintained, it should not be a problem. Now...the differential from M factory...you be needing to check on it much more to make sure it isn't getting detroyed. Eventually, you may end up getting loud banging noises if your car is on slope and you shift into reverse, then back into first...like loud enough to notice and feel. Doesn't do it on flat land though.

These were not my turbos they were sent to me to show the process of what they do and this was at my request. I posted this in response to working out of the living room

UMMMM

Pull the cover now!
NOW!

Look back at my posts. You'll see what happened to mine, sheared most of the bolts. That's where my noise was coming from.
