So the cage for my car is now being manufactured:

While I wait I decided to clean up the wiring. I've been just tracing wires back to the main loom on the bulkhead, cutting and insulating them.

I accidentally cut a wire to the hazard lights switch and it caused the hazards to permanently stay on (the connector wasn't connected to the button at the time).

My general thought process was that if they aren't connected they aren't doing anything, but the hazard light switch has shown me otherwise. The car has no airbags or control module and I've used Pro Tools to code them all out.

My question is: will I be ok to remove the remaining airbag wiring with no surprises?

if it turns out you can't get past problems due to missing air bags, you can spoof the controller by inserting a resistor in the harness. 120 ohms i think.

Cheers for the replies guys.

The controller has been removed and coded out, so I have no dash warnings. It's the actual wiring I want to remove as it looks incredibly messy and isn't doing anything.

You could disconnect the battery, remove the air bags, then remove the wiring for them.

This is what I've been doing, however, when I cut the wire for the hazard light switch it caused the hazards to constantly flash once I'd reconnected the battery, despite it not being connected prior. That has shown that even if they aren't connected, cutting the wires can cause something to happen so they must be doing something even when not connected. This has given me 2nd thoughts about cutting the airbag wires in the event it leaves the car inoperable (which I highly doubt).

I suppose I can just cut them one at a time and make sure the car still works properly, it's not really huge issue if I need to resolder the wires together like I did for the hazard light switch ha. Was just wondering if anyone would concretely know if those disconnected airbag wires are still doing something.
