You're screwed probably. They stopped doing the pre-wire around that time. You can check by going to your driver side brake booster area, there should be a plug taped up there for the hood sensor.

Figures... At least I don't have to pull the rear wheel liner to look. Ty sir.

I really want to do this retrofit, but I live in a nice area and the alarm is just ancillary. I just want the damn beep - hard to justify 200+ for a stupid beep, lol.

That is the only reason I got the alarm to be honest. It's a nice, subtle beep also.

Hi all, I searched most of the places but can not find the hood switch cable. Can anybody guide me how to find this cable. My car is 2012 X1 E84. Is there a possibility it is not prewired? I have a hood open light on my aftermarket android screen.

So what is your issue exactly? Trying to retro fit the alarm or your android screen says says the hood is open?

At the moment just to get rid of the hood open indication. I checked the retro fit for the alarm I might try it later but at the moment I cant even find the cable for the hood switch.

The hood latch sensor is on the hood latch. The hood alarm sensor is separate. This thread is about the E93 however.

Thanks a lot sorry for posting to wrong place. I read the wiring is very similar and this error can be related to the hood switch. There is no latch switch either that I can see.
