I was waiting for such data to be shared, i think i have my mind set on the HP800's.
Well, the lovely weather we are having (47c-50c) is not helping :( so we'll be talking again soon.

Excellent numbers. I wish the n54 had came with that head from the factory. I wonder how difficult it would be to swap the manifold flange to take run this heAd on a single kit?

Are you suggesting someone make a flange with "tapered runner ports" so you could cut off and reweld an existing exhaust manifold to accommodate the runners being too small?

Yes exactly. I'm about to order the ces kit and would like to have options to put one of these heads on.

N53 hot part kits...

Cutting flanges makes no sense imo
Considering it's taken years for some of these kits to hit the market for the n54. it would make no sense for a company to sell hot parts kits for a head that never made it to the US. not enough customers to support it. Maybe if this head swap became common in the future.

I was talking about the customer end.

your pulling the manifold off regardless.

cutting an entire flange on a 6pot is asking for issues.

its welding the new flange on that runs the risk (Banana Flange Time).

you can cut it straight easily on a band.

having done it before, I wouldn't recommend it, thats all.

Will it become a reality? most likely not, but an n53 hot parts kit would be on my list for sure. all Im getting at here :)

The "Right" way to do this is to:

1) Make the manifold custom
2) Port your N54 head

Trying to modify a manifold is likely asking for trouble and the cost savings wouldn't even be there not to mention mediocre result you'll likely wind up with, especially with a CNC manifold design.

Yeah, it's one or the other. No sense making a half assed attempt to rig it when you're swapping a head already.

Seams like results vary widely with ported n54 head. Was just brain storming. I'll probably end up where I want to be power wise with just the turbo kit. but more power at lower boost pressure would be awesome.

I don't know for sure what every supplier is doing, but the common pipe size and wall thicknesses used for fabricating primaries could mean a lot of tubular runner IDs are closer to the n53 exhaust port ID anyway.

Forgive me if this is all covered already, but a couple Qs.

Does the N53 have the same VC as the N54? If not, is the N53 metal?

Does the N53 have the same injectors as the N54?

What intake manifold are you using?

What machining has to be done to mate the N53 head to the N54 block?

How are you tuning this?

I am running a stock N54 VC, and index-12 injectors along with a stock plastic N54 IM. Plenty of welding/machining needs to be done to get them to play nice though, and I am tuning this flash-only via MHD.

And on a completely unrelated note, here is a video of my man Xavier's 700Z tearing up the track in yesterday's drift practice session. He came in 2nd place today in the main event so I'm pretty chuffed about it... Why 700Z you may ask? Because 12.7:1 CR cammed 7.0L LS7... :D

I'm glad to see you're a fan of the LS7, Omar. Nowadays that's the only LS swap I'm even impressed by, junkyard LS1 builds are a dime a dozen at any racing event, but the big torquey displacement of an LS7 is just something else imo.

Since you're a fan of larger displacement engines too, you should start work on a stroker kit for the N54 :tearsofjoy: between that, the n53 head and cams you'd be responsible for some really next-level shit lmao

I'd be looking for a sleeved big bore setup seeing as how there's enough stroke already in this engine
