Is a 700whp twin turbo N54 build realistic?

I'm sure he turns it down as a DD and turns it up when he goes to the track or mexico. If my assumption is correct, then yes. It's realistic.

I was planning to limit my tune to 650 whp on a very well kept motor. Scared to death of exploding the motor. You're saying that you're ok with 700whp...as daily? On a Dynojet or Mustang? Getting mine tuned by Twisted on Dec. 21st on a Mustang Dyno... so maybe 650 on Mustang Dyno is ok?

hp is mostly irrelevant compared to torque curves in terms of reliability. justin will give you whatever you can get out of the car that's safe, numbers aren't worth worrying about unless you're shooting for records.

With a positive boost curve and keeping the tq under 600 ft lbs I think it should be. Need big twins (probably rob GF's or VTT GC) to do that without pushing them too hard though.

Whats your WGDC and boost like? 650 is a good number I think - about 750 crank. That's A LOT of power. Some people throw those numbers around like it's no big deal. 😆 You tell non enthusiasts you make 750 hp and their jaw drops. Happens at ~500 hp already.

700whp on stock block is sustainable to an extent. But the HP is not the thing that hurts the engine. Its the torque. keeping torque around 600-650tq and the engine will be fine for a bit.

Also, don't be confused or mislead about when people say things like "oh i daily my 700-800whp n54 no problem". Cars spend 1-2% of their time at WOT. But yea, torque around 600-650tq should be ok for the most part.

Let's look at getting this machine to your recommendations. I have no complaints with 650 wtq. and if you can get this thing to close 700whp... shyyyyyyyyiiit.... that's Lottery Winning Ticket to me. I'm just worried about lag. Currently, the car is running on our version 11.mhd Flex Fuel flash we did for it when it had stock turbos and the lag is like driving a Cruise Ship. I can feel the turbo is only using a fraction of its power, and when I go wot...it is scary all the way to redline. Not like stockers at all...but man, that lag...ooohhhh weeeee.... it's cray cray...

I have no idea what my WGDC and boost are currently. I will defer to Justin's experience and will not interfere with any dangerous requests on day of tuning. But I do know that PURE Turbos say that their threshold for reliability and bullet proof settings is WGDC max of 85%. Anything over that will begin to be hard on the unit.

Twins can make good power with everything sorted and there are a few that are genuinely quick around outside of dyno queen moments. Going up in power to a real 700 or so on a daily (assume we are talking about putting the hurt on it regularly) means a built motor. Single or twin. I also think a real 700rwhp would be trapping closer to 140mph than 130mph in the 1/4.

Fair enough, I just think that not knowing stuff like that makes it impossible to know how hard you're pushing them, which directly affects reliability. I applaud you for trusting pure and your tuner that much though.

Hey Ivan,

What's your fuel setup now?

Really would be cool to get everyone that's here and not on FB to Bremerton etc.. n54 shootout or something corny like that lol

That would be a great idea. I always find that once the bremerton street car challenge comes up.. everyone hides! (Like when you need help moving) it’s frustrating!

But yes great idea. I’d love for something like that to happen.Shoot me an email : [email protected]

Fueling is simple: good index 12 injectors/-la helix hpfp overdrive/ and 2200cc of 100% methanol. Well dialed in with a good tuner behind you (wedge)... it makes wonders.

I daily my car. 725whp/630wtq SAE

I've put 35k miles on this set up. I don't detune it during the week, but I also don't rip it around every light cause that's not my style of driving. I race it multiple nights just about every weekend tho.
