Definitely the best looking valve cover option for the N54.

So far from the best looking lol, I can send you a pair of coke bottle bottoms so you can see better.:tonguewink:

It is ok without the logo

Sorry to step on your dick Marty, but the VTT VC looks like ass imo. The area under the di rails on the VTT VC looks like an after thought. The M18 actually flows with them like the stock VC and the logo is easily removed.

Uhhh no it is not.

But I understand why you would promote VTT as you are in business together.

Your views are obviously biased.

I think you need the glasses my friend ;)

Well, it looks like I’ve been banned from posting in the VTT thread because I think their product is less visually appealing than this one.

My post was even quoted and then Chris claimed their VC is pounds lighter than this one. Anyone know if there is any truth behind the weight claim?

Ever notice VTT is the only vendor who bans people constantly from posting in their threads and constantly has their threads sent to the octagon to die where no one will see them? It is so odd that no other vendor does this literally on a weekly if not daily basis.

Looks like I am banned too it seems, I didn't even make a single post, I can't reply to posts like these:

"The stock type design has the fuel lines running through the rocker cover whilst transferring heat into the fuel which is not a good idea in terms of performance." <-- This is 100% Grade A BULLSHIT. The fuel is not going to heat up one iota. @martymil come on brother, even you know that is just not a factor in any way shape or form. I know you are in business with VTT but your bias has really been showing recently.

"The VTT design is far superior in terms of functionality weight saving and better airflow around the fuel lines to help with heat management on the fuel delivery side." <-- Ok weight means jack shit on a VC, again you know this. Like it was said above, like bird shit on the window. Better airflow around the fuel lines does not matter. The fuel travels so fast it does not have time to heat up in any meaningful way. Not to mention the fuel lines warm up on their own regardless of VC design. If you honestly believe this matters at all start selling finned fuel lines to help dissipate the heat. Or perhaps design and sell a fuel rail cooler? Be simple to design but I don't think you will have any customers. Then again, people buy throttle body spacers.

"if I was to run the other cover it would restrict me in running the super sexy BMW strut brace and this is what sealed the deal for me" <-- Why exactly?

@martymil do you get a cut on every VC sold or something? I have never seen someone try and point out such amazingly insignificant differences for a product they are not selling/pushing. Or maybe you have exclusive rights to sell VTT stuff in ozz land or something? Do you have a pile of these VC sitting in stock you need to move or something?

This is not true. There are situations, when fuel velocity in rail is 0 m/s.
Even if the fuel is sitting indefinitely in the rail, neither VC is going to effect the fuel temp more than the other. The fuel rail connects directly to the aluminum head. Any engine heat that is going to transfer to the fuel will do it conductively through the mount before it radiates in through the VC.

The plain and simple reason VTT went flat top on both sides was manufacturing cost on the billet piece and ease of design/lack of cad design skills. You can see it in every product they have. Everything is dead simple to draw up in cad.

I still do not believe that the fuel rails are going to heat up in any way that will have a measurable effect on performance.

Look at these pictures:

Injector is right in the cylinder and bolts to the head. Metal on metal. The fuel line then goes to the top of the injector. Metal on Metal. Fuel rail attaches to the head. Metal on Metal. All of the metal parts will warm up on their own as they are all connected directly to the block. Of all the things that could matter this is close to last on the list. @martymil you know all of this man, why try and throw shade on a competitor's VC by saying the fuel rails are going to heat up implying it is a negative or design flaw? Please don't go down the same road as @Chris@VargasTurboTech spreading FUD and casting shade on the competition. It only hurts VTT(and I am guessing your) sales at the end of the day.

If anyone is really are worried or think it matters(it doesn't), insulate the fuel lines and rail and get some phenolic spacers etc. Then find a way to actively cool the metal. This is all an exercise is futility mind you.

Zero real word change in performance.

edit: @The Convert beat me to it.

I have no problem with it. I agree with you, no difference in performance.
Btw. I will buy one of these beauties..

He’ll, if the VC proximity to the fuel rail was an issue at all, that giant plazmaman intake manifold would be soooo much worse. All that aluminum touching your intake charge! My god, the heat transfer into that air!

Marty is a bag of hot air. I used to be unbiased against VTT, but Chris has steadily been infected by Tony’s attitude and none of their products are worth any of the extra hassle you’d have to deal with should anything go wrong.

Hmm you guys need to learn a little bit about thermodynamics and how heat is transferred through different materials, but I'm not here to teach you that.

Just shows peoples maturity on here as they need to resort to name calling and cant have a civilized conversation.

You can buy what ever rocker cover you like, I don't give a shit but when I see uneducated crap being posted it makes me laugh and the lengths you go to
convince others you are right.

So you stand by all of your statements is that accurate?

Who is name calling and what name did they exactly call you? Show us where the bad man touched you.

You wrote a post about how everyone else is wrong and you are right regarding the fuel heating up & bad VC design but have zero facts to back it up other than your claim knowledge that the rest if us do not have?

Exactly how detrimental do you think the 'warmer' fuel is going to be?

Why can't you fit the front strut bar with this VC?

Have you considered actively cooling or insulating the fuel system? If this is a real concern?

Instead of writing a post that comes off as arrogant and rude perhaps drop some of that knowledge you claim to have as how this VC is going to hurt performance because of the warm fuel?

If cold fuel mattered you would see super cars using ac coolant loops etc. Every super car just runs the tank at ambient that I am aware of.
