Got around to changing the valve cover this weekend. Starting to get fast at taking the turbo and VC off quickly lol. Hopefully don't have to take it off anytime soon. Got some new ngk 97506 plugs as well and gaped them to .22. Seemed to do the trick. No more smoking. I let it idle all the way to operating temps with no smoke at all. No codes popped up. Couldn't take it out for a drive yet sadly. Still needs some new tires for the rear and then a alignment. In the mean time im going to clean up the engine bay because its looking pretty bad. Now to get the DP fix and get it registered so I can finally have it back as my daily. How have you guy's temps been with this heat? Here in Virginia Beach its been anywhere from 80 to 110 degrees and I sit in about 2 hours of traffic a day. Just a little worried about temps getting high while in traffic.

Need some help trying to figure this out. On start up there's a loud ticking, knocking, misfire or lifter sound. I don't know which one it is and just want some input on it. its goes away after about 2 minutes on start up so it seems to be a lifter but then I check codes and I have misfire in cyl 1 and 3 or several. But I don't get misfires on all startups just every now and then.

Just the usual culprits 29CD, 29CF, and 29CC through the jb4 app, and sometimes I get shadow codes through mhd 2FCA and 2FDA. I've looked up the shadow codes and I think I read that its something with the ekp module and the voltage. Before I go replacing the module I was going to replace the voltage regulator. I took mine off today and it looks one of the leads is short and worn out and wearing out unevenly. I have no clue if that's how its suppose to wear out at all though. I just recently cleaned all the injectors and replaced the seals and decouplers as well to see if that would work but it didn't. I'm already planning to get some new index 12 injectors, PR ign kit and fuel pumps but I just want to find out this problem before I throw another 500 into it and it actually be a motor problem instead. Looking at my past codes its been cyl 1 and 3 for awhile now. I've swapped coils plenty of times now and it just stays with the same cyl. Could it be injectors causing this sound?

Put your finger on the fuel lines leading from the injectors and see if you can "feel" the ticking through the line. If you can feel ticking then your injector is bad. I had 2 misfires on my last dyno run and could feel a distinct difference in my number 2 and 6 lines. Replaced injectors and problem solved.

For you single turbo guys out there. What oil feed fitting to the turbo have you used? My vibrant 90 degree one is leaking out the threads and onto the blanket and then smoking and I cant get it any tighter. I got it as tight as I could go without stripping the threads. Have you guys used high temp teflon tape or some loctite?

No Teflon tape on turbo oil feeds, that leads to a sad times.

Loctite high temp thread sealant works great.

On second thought you might want to grab another blanket, they kinda suck once they get oil saturated..

Been gone for work for awhile but big upgrades going to the car next week. I have brand new index 12 injectors , pr coils, vrsf race IC, pr stage 3 bucketed fuel pump, and upgrades fuel lines all being installed next week. My ADV O2 sensors fried right before I put the car in storage so I'm looking for some NTK's. Not sure which part numbers I need to get for the manifold and which part numbers for the rear sensors though. Also I need to get a new turbo blanket. My docrace one has been smoking quite a bit so I think its time to through that one away. What blankets are you guys running? Thanks for input in advance. Will be updating throughout the week with all the hiccups that are to come up lol.

Alright I'm a little confused on how to wire up this hobb switch from precision raceworks. I have the hobb switch all hooked up from charge pipe to fuel pump but I have no clue how to hook everything up to the battery have. I know forsure the black cable needs to be a ground or go on negative post on battery. Then the red cable needs to go to positive on battery. Do i just take apart the connector and splice into the 86 wire going to the exhaust flapper for the 12v?

Finally done with with installing injectors, coils, fuel pumps, fuel lines, intercooler. Did some wire heat management looks a lot better now then how it use to sit next to downpipe lol. Also I found a kink in my WG lines so that's why I havent been able to control boost. Went out did some test pulls. Feels good but just want some insight on the logs.

Is this a JB4 file? If so, you don't need to remove the headers for them to work. In fact, if you leave them, that additional information will appear below your datagraph(if you want that).

What wg spring do you have in here?

Yea its a JB4 file. I thought we had to remove the first couple lines for it to post correctly. But Ill keep it there next post. I did notice the boost not hitting target and was also wondering what springs I had in there. I'm going to be taking them out in a couple hours to check. Most likely I think I put some lower psi springs in when I was having problems controlling boost. But I think I think I fixed that. But now that I have stage 3 LPFP will I be ok going full E85 or will the HPFP still not keep up?

Turns out I only had the black springs in so I added in the green springs to for 13.05 spring pressure. Was able to get boost spot on target. But now looks like im having something going on with ign which is weird cause they were all spot on a couple days ago.
