Pretty sure its the 2" wide rolls
I went ceramic coating route. Multiple people told me if oil drips on the wrap could cause a fire either way coating is by far the best method I paid $150 for manifold and downpipe local

I regret not wrapping my manifold, its a bottom mount so the highest heats don't necessarily hit the sensitive parts but plenty of heat still radiates upward. I'd recommend wrapping the manifold personally.

I think I'm just going to get the 100ft roll if I have some left over I'll use it to wrap up some wires around that area or something.

Forgot all about the pcv system but I was thinking of just using the bms occ for the high side and rb external setup for the low side. Found the bms occ on amazon for $60 and the mishimoto for 115 and I'm just going to buy some 3/4" heater hose from home depot to route everything for now until I can go AN lines. And I'll plug the ports whenever I get to it after I get the car running decent. What you guys think?

Anyone use some type of permatex rtv silicone gasket maker just for assurance for oil pan gasket or oil filter housing or oil cooler housing? I got some permatex ultra copper laying around and just wondering if its safe to use or just the gaskets and nothing else.

Honestly I would just use the new gaskets. Just make sure the surfaces are nice and clean and dry when you go to reinstall.

I work at a jeep dealer as a mechanic and on Friday I saw someone who used rtv to reseal a water pump and the coolant just ate away at the rtv and it ending up blocking the head coolant ports.

Thanks that's what I was worried about.

Update: Just received my rb external pcv today. Doc Race kit comes in on Tuesday. Sometime later this week my catch cans will also come in. I ordered a fab factory dual catch can bracket to. Hopefully it should be shipped soon. I also have to order up a bmw clutch alignment tool. After I get those parts I should have everything in order to begin ST install beside all the misc stuff I need to get from local stores. Also If you are thinking about ordering a doc race kit they're doing ceramic coating at no charge.

I got the bracket also... Just don't know where to put it to be honest.

Tried these, none of which are ideal.

How long did it take you to get your bracket? I think I'm just going to hang it from the strut bar. I don't know anywhere else it'll fit.

Ok so I knew something bad was going to happen to me. I'm in the middle of my st install and I got my renewal for registration and it says I have to get it smogged. I'm kinda past the point of putting all the stock parts back on right now. Im on a time limit and I need my car to drive to work. I would have to order stock parts I broke to reinstall all stock parts to pass. I knew I should of got it smogged before I did this so I wouldn't have to worry about it for awhile but I totally forgot about doing it. I was just to excited and started doing it. So my question is how do I go about this now? I'm going to try and find a smog place if they can just look the other way and pass me hopefully. Worst case I'm gunna have to reinstall my stock turbos.... Anyone know a smog place in socal that will pass me?

if you just leave your secondary cats in place and get a high flow cat put in the downpipe you should be aboe to pass emissions

Taking a little bit longer than expected. Hoping to get it running tomorrow. Ran into a few snags on the way making things a bit harder to install. I have my car in a shop and they are only open Friday through Sunday 9am-5pm. Last weekend I was really close to finishing so I thought if I could get my car to be able to roll, I could just push it out of the shop and finish in the parking lot. Well I wasn't able to get it to roll. All I needed to do was put the control arms back but ran out of time. So in the effort to get it rolling putting the subframe and steering rack back in has made it a real pain to get anything done and everything is taking 10x longer to install. The way the turbo is clocked I cant get one of the compressor housing bolts in. I really just need it to run and drive about 5 miles to my house and then I can take it apart again and do it right. Also the way my charge pipe sits the relocation of my coolant tank wont let me have my coolant sensor plugged in. And it might just be my perfectionist but I want the relocated coolant hoses run better. Right now it looks like they are all kinked and doesn't look good to me. But again I just need it to run and drive to my house. And the last thing the collector from the down pipe to exhaust the holes dont line up and the o2 sensors aren't able to go in so I'm going to have to make new o2 sensor holes and drill holes to connect the exhaust together. So might be a little while til I can start dd it again.

I may actually sell my bracket, did you already buy one?

@doublespaces what bracket?

Update: Got the car running an was able to get it home today. I'm actually surprised it was able to make it home haha. This morning all I needed to do was plumb the wastegates to the mac solenoid and then refill all the liquids. I'm going to have to put something around all those hoses and wired next to the exhaust housing. I can already see that is going to be a problem. So I refilled all liquids bleed the coolant and power steering primed the turbo and then started it up and it ran perfect for about 10 seconds and then started shaking violently. Turned it off and started looking if I forgot to plug something in and I couldn't find anything. So started it up again and same thing. Then I realized that I forgot to turn jb4 back on to map 1 after I did the mhd bef. Was way better but was still running rough. So I switched the o2 sensors on top the intake manifold and fixed it. Just about to test drive it and I revved it pretty high backed out of my spot and coolant was everywhere. One of the quick disconnect hoses to the thermostat wasn't on all the way and popped off. So there went my new blue coolant..... I don't know how much blue coolant is in there now but I just have distilled water in there now. So now I'm at home looking at everything seeing if it held up and looks like my rerouted coolant hose got a little close to the pulley and now there's a pretty good cut in the hose now.... It's not leaking but I don't trust it so I'm going to try and replace it in the morning along with trying to get that last compressor housing bolt in. It looks like the compressor housing is crooked just a hair just cause of that bolt not being there. I also need to try and get the o2 sensors in a little better. Right now they area literally only threaded like 1 or 2 times cause I cant get my wrench in there or the o2's wont go in cause they hit the wall next to it. But it sounds pretty damm good now.
