I've tested it with a 2010 iPhone 4 and various Androids and PCs and everything works well, but not Wear or Android Wear yet, this watch was Android 7. Any half decent browser should work so there is no app. However, N55 support is not planned, sorry.

Hopefully you're still releasing some sort of tuning or flex fuel solution for N55 though?

The main thing we are working on is a mechanism to get an over the air update when the user first connects the device to a new car. Think we are going to use AWS, but we are evaluating.

(Without knowing the application) Thoughts on some ECS tasks behind API gateway tied to Dynamo or redshift?

This way you could auto scale and not really have to worry about the influx of traffic at launch or when an update is pushed out, should keep opex costs down as well.

We were thinking of AWS Lambda. The payloads are small and occasional, it is not really a cloud device apart from the initial provisioning. If this is something you can advise us on, please drop me a message and I'll put you in touch with my colleague who is doing this side. He has been talking to a few companies this week, and also working on Lambda himself, but it is an unfamiliar area to us.

Your messages are disabled, I tried earlier. Is there somewhere we can talk privately if you don't want PM's on here?

The packaging to get everything in a small enclosure with FCC certified module has been really tough. So far there are no apertures in the enclosure for buttons. I am hoping to devise a software only solution that is secure but cannot lock people out. It could be that the hotspot the device makes has a unique, unchanging password, that can be used for access, but also to alter the credentials to connect to home/dyno WiFi. Presently, the only prototype only makes a hotspot with a fixed password and does not connect to other networks.

N54 - I have not done any N54 DME code so far apart from some security stuff. I have 2 years of development in the Bosch 17 series DMEs, but barely looked at Siemens in comparison. That along with some important differences between them and my interest in flashing other Bosch ECUs for other makes, means I won't be doing realtime for N54. Jake might.

I'm a button jockey for FCC regulatory verification and early DEV1/2/3 units for OculusVR. If you have need for a 3meter ANi chamber(emissions testing), or FCC reg restrictions, I can help. I like where this is going:)

Very interesting read, but the ending is a real cliff hanger. Did this ever make it to market?

I'm pretty sure they switched to focusing development on VW and Audi related platforms. I think it's a real product now, but forget which shop it's offered through.

DynoSpectrum is the company. They offer it for some McLaren, Audi V8TT and RS3, some P-cars, etc.

As for BMW support, similar features will be coming via MHD that I have been working on.

I just left some feedback about MHD and let him know the competition for MHD is very strong right now. They need to push things to market as fast as they can before they get left behind.

You can't drop hints like that, it's not fair. I'm guessing this is competition on other platforms, can't imagine there's a business case for trying to take on MHD on the N54 platform.

MHD has a firm grip on the N54 market and E series N55. I think they'll always have that. The N54 hasnt seen a public XDF update in a long time though and I know that MHD is more focused on the F / G series right now so i wouldnt expect any new N54 releases for at least the rest of this year. Maybe jyamona will correct me on this?

The issue is the F/G series cars. Ecutek dropped and their racerom has been released. I have it on my m2 and its amazing. Flex fuel, on the fly map switching on the wheel, custom DME inputs, etc. The other thing was the support from Ecutek has been very good. If i need a table added, I can email them and have a response in a day or two. I dont have to spend hours digging through the funktions doc or WinOLS defining tables. They also do webinars from time to time explaining different releases and features. With E series N55 Ive had to add a ton of tables just on the 98g0b alone and i havent had to do any of that on ecutek with the F series.

I like the MHD offering as its easy for me to remote tune cars but the features and support have opportunities for improvement. I really think that MHD should start supporting the tuner network a bit better as its us that are selling the product. I know that Wedge, RK, Twisted, and several other tuners have purchased and are using Ecutek as well. The urgency was for MHD to start making some moves before everyone jumps ship.

Not trying to ruffle feathers, just giving my .02

Not only Ecutek. But MG flasher (who?) Has on the fly map switching now. Would be great if MHD could keep up.
