I've given it some though on my ST setup but truth is first gear on a MT is already so fast/short I barely hit 19psi on my setup. Going to a steeper rear ratio would make first pretty much useless. I think it has more to do with the manual transmissions gearing being so steep in first gear.

Higher gear will make it even harder to get out of the hole. Way harder with hybrids
A 3.46 is tighter than a 3.08 all things being equal acceleration would be faster with a reduction in top speed.. I know a couple people reported that 6th gear 70mph they had an increase in around 200rpm if IIRC

People have done it and if I recall everyone has regretted it. I think @Terry@BMS would know, some n54tech members have done this I believe.

Depending on your goals it could be beneficial but the first 2 gears are pretty useless already so for a DD it doesn't make much sense and MPG suffers as well.

Nice! I did the same thing but with a 215mm 3.46 diff. It was built in 2006 and had 35k miles on it and cost me 200 shipped. They only made those for a year and its production date was earlier than synchrotech's chart.
I paid 300 shipped for one with 70K but it's still cheaper than sending my welded diff in and I'm in Canada so return shipping would have been expensive.

Going from a 3.08 to 3.46 will give 12.33% more torque in each gear and run 89.01% of the road speed in each gear as the 3.08... the changes in road speed to RPM-Gear ratio really messed with E39s Cruise Control Ability, and would imagine these even MORE ornery cyborg cars would be get "upset"...

it's the torque that breaks traction, a diff gear change is a torque modifier to the wheels... HP is not affected

Have only got a couple hundred miles on it, but feels real planted in the rear compared to stock, even with run flats. Going to have the eLSD disabled hopefully this week by @Levanime
yeah i still have the potenza RE050 fun flats the dealer put on.. holding strong... wish they would just wear down already ;) so i could PSS it... feels great tho
also @doublespaces disabling traction all the way does that so there is really no need for coding... hold down for 7 seconds or whatever it is and all that goes away... click it once and it only disables some things like throttle/timing pull under slipping, but al the way off is the only way to really get whatyou wanna get out of these things anyway, so i dont see a point in coding... there are a few i suppose, like disable it to were you can keep throttle/timing pull but not the torque vectoring? idk ive had great success on both cars without coding...

Yea just hold DTC for 4-5 seconds and you're good.

I prefer to keep the stability features enabled unless I was in a race setting. Straight line performance or slight wheel sleep out of a corner is really where my LSD will be used. In all cases, I like the safety features to be enabled. I've flipped my last e90 by fishtailing on some rail tracks and sliding sideways into a curb at about 25mph.

Disabling the e-diff is a separate feature from the stability system from my understanding. I had FLR, HPS and the diff lock disabled.

Not sure it's worth having warranty issues to be honest. Installation error will be the first thing you have to deal with if something went wrong.
