Noquarter, what turbos do you have. My psp pipes still have silicone at that spot. They are couplers but atleast the top part closest to manifold is aluminum

I think the silicone coupler is far enough away from the manifold.

I guess time will tell. At least it is an easy and cheap replacement coupler if it becomes a problem.

Yeah the psp coupler is far enough away imo. It is also the best outlet kit on the market bar none. The vtt solution is sub par in terms of flow fwiw. If you are really worried about the coupler, which you should not be, you could always apply a heat shield from dei. Not needed mind you.

The psp for upgraded turbos is a bit different. It has more silicone couplers. Highlighted in red

This thread should really be retitled as, The MMP Outlet Blues. trying to capture some data logs this afternoon with @barry@3DM , and heard a loud pop. I got 7,500 miles with stock turbos.

Think the title is perfect quite frankly, as for you it seems just like another "poor outlet install catching up to you". Be thankful even with a poor install you made it 7,500 miles that is quite the miracle. ;)

Yeah ... and I think I might have just missed @Dusty Waterfall 's sale. There should be refugee pricing for those with busted competitor's junk :sunglasses:.

For some reason every time we state this it falls on deaf ears, as if we have something to gain by saying it or something lol.. but will try it again.

You do not need outlets as upgraded units will do little to nothing for you. Just put back on your stock outlets, on your LHD stock turbos, and enjoy.

FWIW we do not even push outlets on our customers buying up to RB Next Gens, of which we rate (conservatively) at 500-550whp; as compared to OEM turbos which we rate for up to 425whp.

In short, you do not need them, not even close.

That pic really makes it look like besides adding shielding their isnt much you can do dif on install. My vtt outlets still are ok but for some reason my windshield washer fluid is leaking im wondering if i could have messed up my shield and melted it. In hindsight i am going to go back to stock outlet until i upgrade turbos, unless the psp is alot easier to install. I am not lookong forward to being in your guys shoes and taking apart a bunch of stuff cause of my failed upgrade.

I always read that install error is the number one cause but what about bad motor mounts? I could see the motor shifting on turns if the motor mounts are bad. Also if there are no burn burn mark's then its probably just bad silicone?
