Tru Cool Max LPD4921 with thermostat mounted behind the kidneys

If I was doing it again i would get LPD4739 with the larger screw in fittings, I did the 4921 due to the side inlet/exit. But they are too small for stock lines when cutting them.

But it’s been working great, comes up to 160 degrees quickly with the thermostat and haven’t seen warmer than 190 yet with quite a bit of back to back pulls so far on 80-90 degree days. Thermostat cracks at 160 and full open 175.

RealOEM states;
01 Oil cooling pipe inlet
02 Oil cooling pipe outlet

Still unsure in what perspective they report this. From the gearbox perspective or from the cooler perspective...

Top port of the transmission is the return from the cooler (fresh fluid). Bottom port is the outlet from the transmission to the cooler (Hot fluid).

Isn't it the opposite based on the real oem diagram. Top is outlet and bottom is inlet? Does it even matter?

Haha so i'm still no wiser :grinning:
I want to run a thermostat so yeah it does matter how you connect the flow.

So far we have the most votes for pipe 1 bieng hot fluid to cooler and pipe 2 is cooled fluid back to transmission.

Well, ECS tuning shows pipe 2 as a cooler return line. So based on that, real oem would be from the perspective of the heat exchanger. Pipe 2 is outlet from heat exchanger and pipe 1 is inlet to heat exchanger. I have installed an atf cooler with thermostat but haven't run it yet. I'm also trying to ensure I have the flow correct.
