Hey guys I got a question,

I emptied out the primary cats (no secondaries on my car) of my 07 e92 325i n52b25 . Didnt remove them theyre still visually there, just empty. I then got the check engine light and found a coder to code out the lambda sensors (Theyre still there though just coded out) since I believed they were the reason I didnt feel my engine had the performance it should. Having done that there was no noticable difference in performance or fuel consumption, only difference was no check engine light.

My question is can what I habe done reduce the performance of my engine? Considered reduced back pressure or turbulance due to bigger diameter piping where the now emptied cat is.

Also where does the ECU get its i gormation from for the right air gas mixture if not from the lambda sensor (since its been disabled)

Thanks a lot for any help
