    I never understood the reflective tape on the metal? What is the point? I see people load up on it but why?

    You can relocate that wire harness into the fender very easily. I see you already moved the ww filler hose.

    Chrome looks dope!

    The reflect-a-gold metalized polyamide film has a higher IR reflectance than the painted metal chassis.

    Ok, but why do you want to reflect the heat? Are people worried the metal will fatigue or something?

    Ask him what he was thinking, but that would be my thought. Personally, is go the route of a turbo and downpipes blanket first. Always better to keep it in rather than reflect when possible.

    Go buy a painted BBQ pit from Walmart and light a few 600f fires in it. Watch all the paint peel off and rust kick in. Now look at a turbine housing and realize they get 1600f regularly. You don’t need to be Sherlock Holmes to see how it could go bad.

    A good ceramic coating on the manifold and hot side of the turbo will both preserve the paint AND provide performance benefits. Not blingy, but I'd recommend Swaintech White Lightning.

    Agreed. That is the leading coating for performance. Not cheap either.

    Swain has been the business for a long time. We used to use a lot of their stuff for endurance racing in the early nineties - surfactants, barrier coatings, thermal coatings, etc. Their stuff is proven on the track and one gets what one pays for.

    Swain tech is by far the best in ceramic coating. But I would still wrap that mani and get a turbo blanket.

    I'll put it to you like this. Swaintech White Lightning recieved its patent in 1981.

    Are you insinuating that the Jet-Hot style metallic finish on yours is the same as the white lightning coating? Jet-Hot's max thickness is less than White Lightning's claimed thickness. Not saying it doesn't work, I had a set of Jet-Hot coated headers years ago and it worked great. The metallic shine dulled after a while, so I would expect the same from the higher heat of a turbo.

    Yes, but the swaintech white lightning, specifically, comes in white only. It's likely an HVOF or HVAF TBC with a nicroly bond coat, and the white color is likely from yittria.
