I can't seem to find it but I thought I remembered reading that due to ram limitations some compromises had to be made are their any features that are lost with the flex fuel maps?

Yes but you won't miss them. Fuel scalar, afr etc becomes single tables instead of banks (tbi cars might cry foul), multispark is bye-bye, one load to torque table to rule them all, some unnecessarily large tables were shrunk to useful size etc. The ROM is definitely reorganized for flex fuel, and despite not containing the actual logic changes that are written at flash time by MHD, these ROMs are effectively not I8 or IJ anymore. Should probably be referred to as I8AFF and IJEFF now or something since they will need special xdf, and they cannot be properly loaded without MHD.

V8Bait, who do you work for? I keep seeing your name come up as a great tuner but I dont see what company you work for or a website to go to. Thanks. Keep up the good work. It is people like you who advance this platform.

All correct except for multispark, that is still there. It may be taken out in the future along with all of the unused strat tables if we need more space. There wasn't much free calibration space to begin with, but thankfully there are a lot of unused things that can be cleared to free up space.

I also debated giving the roms a new name, but we will just add _FF suffix after them for now. The tool will add that to the file it spits out too. In the future, I'll probably group all sweeping space saver changes into one big edit, and probably give new ROM names then. I8MHD, IJMHD, etc :)

As for TBI difference, I simply advise against running TBI. People can clearly see the bank to bank fueling difference, but there also can be a pretty big individual cylinder difference which the DME can't easily account for. It tries with advanced per cyl models, but those are thrown off with small mods ;)

I'm on "vacation" until June but as of Monday I found out I do actually have a job. I'll tell you Friday where it is lmao. Until then my job is to finish spending all these student loans as irresponsibly as possible :tearsofjoy::tearsofjoy:

Congrats! I know it must be a pretty good position.

Hi, I'm new here. I've just read most of the 24 pages, it's a pretty awesome news.
This is exactly what I was looking for. My car is completly stock, stock turbos, catted DP, stock intercooler, new HPFP, new coils, new spark plugs.
What do I need to go Flex fuel stage 1 ?
Am I good with that ? :
- Motiv Flex Fuel Box
- Motiv Ethanol Content Sensor Kit
- Stage 2 LPFP (Boost Concept DIY Kit)
- And of course MHD and all the modules

Thanks

I hope I'll be the first MHD Motiv flex fuelled french guy !

Guys, anyone to answer my question about the set up ?

Thx for the info, I've already ordered DIY Stage 2 kit. I wish to run full E85, so I understood that it's necessary.
I wish I could upgrade DPs, but it's a pain in the arse in France because of the technical inspections, exhaust gazes are measured..
And I don't know if FMIC upgrade only is usefull..

On my car I went to DPs, had a custom exhaust built with high-flow, mid-pipe catalysts (behind the transmission), and extended the wiring harness for the post-catalyst 02 sensors to the mid-pipe catalysts. Works well. The issue with the DP cats is creating backpressure right behind the turbos, which impedes spool. Another option is DPs with high-flow catalysts.

how much boost? that will ultimately determine your other mods. if you're planning high boost I would get PI, to give the HPFP some breathing room. A st2 bucketless lpfp should be plenty. look into getting a DW400 one instead of a walbro 450

Do the 3" Cobb catted downpipes. Expensive, but still a great performance upgrade that passes all emissions and technical inspections.

Considering the DW400 has been tested and shows that it pulls more amperage than a W450 why do that when our pump control module is already at the limit with the W450? There's no real world performance improvement from the DW400 because the venturi limits both pump's max output anyhow.

If you are going full aftermarket fuel delivery, dumping the factory fuel lines and upgrading the EKP then the DW400 might be worth it. If not just stick to the standard because that makes everything else easier on the troubleshooting and tuning front. Everyone is familiar and can help you easily.

Let me put numbers around it. Precision Raceworks and @V8bait just made 650hp on a single Walbro 450 with this flexfuel setup on their live stream in front of a live video audience just last week.

As far as I am aware there have been a few people who have seen 700whp on a single DW400
