How many miles did the engine have before it's last blasting(if any)? Any before/after pics?

I believe this engine had around 80-90k on it. We didn't take pictures of this specific instance but have some on our Facebook page of other cars we have done. I'll attach one for you:

"Here is a before and after of what a CBU Cleaning looks like. CBU stands for Carbon Build Up. This is prominent on the direct injected motors like the N54 because the fuel is no longer being sprayed in the intake port behind the valve, which normally creates a cleaning effect by washing the port and backside off with fuel, but instead is sprayed directly into the combustion chamber for increased combustion efficiency."

wow this is a hard pollution. I have clean my intake valves at 100tkm but they wasn't so dirty.
Had the car any harm? Crankcase venting?

Wow, didn't know it made that big of a difference.
When I did mine, I noticed my MPG went up 3-4 mpg.

I've done over 20+ cars for the local scene and every single person texts me almost immediately after leaving at how much smoother and responsive the throttle feels. From everything I've seen at various mileages, I'd recommend it every 30-40k. It's unreal how fast the carbon builds up.

I'm doing 2 cars this Sunday. I'll post up some before and after photos of each. With admin approval, I can start a journal thread of the cars I've done showing their conditions at various mileages.

Honestly that's not a very clean Job in my opinion. It takes more than just Walnut blasting to get everything down there. You really have to get at some spots with dental picks. You still have a lot of crud sitting around the left valve. This is pretty much what I end up with after I'm through. Then take a rag with carb cleaner to clean off some of the carbon at the edges.

These pics are absolutely disgusting. I think I may have to get mine done, I'm at 57k.
