Hello all!

Anyone have any experience with the this tire/wheel combo or what are the widest tires we can fit on the stock 135i rims. I would like to have a better rear tire to use at the drag strip!

It's probably not in spec to put that size tire on a narrow wheel, but I do know people who have done it and the car didn't fall off the road and blow up. I would suggest buying two wheels and doing a dedicated drag set up.

NT01 has a pretty stiff sidewall, and that wheel is only 8.5" wide, while the tire is 10.5" wide. You'll end up with a bowed tire. The tread wouldn't be flat on the contact patch leading to less grip than a properly fitting tire and the bead seat would be compromised. For that wheel 255 would fit correctly, not have any issues and probably give you better traction due to the correct contact patch.

Well, experience trumps theory. I was proven wrong...this guy is running the exact setup you just asked about with 1.7sec 60'

Yeah, I've definitely seen a fair amount of people running too wide of a tire, and it working out. The only thing I can think of is that when they lower the pressure it puts the tread down on the ground. I would think the handling would be squirmy at speed though. God bless fearless people who don't read manufacturer spec's. Lol[/QUOTE]

With proper rim what is the widest rubber can get back their I know on my e92 I had to roll to fit 265 but I want to step up to 275 their just isn't allot of choice with a 30 profile on 19s looks like nt05 is only think I can get that might hook up I wanted re71r r888r or maybe 555r2 but couldn't find in 30 profile for 19 inch rim

275 with 10 inch rim 28 offset works it 275 30 19 . That is with a roll though and e92 . However 245 front is a big no no

Whats your offset and suspension i had to have sdc all around couldnt been normal and done deep concave front so my offset 23 which is highest they go plus it a 9.5 rim

Also what brand tire i think i would be good with hankook but these nt05 are wide. My 255 pss on 18s are same width as my 19inch 265 v12s the evo 2s

I'm running 245's up front and 275's out back. 8.5" wide front and 9.5" wide rear F80 M3 reps. No problems at all. Literally as wide as you'll go though.
Last question are you running 245 35 or 30 profile?

Hankook's at 245/35/18 and 275/35/18. Factory sport suspension. And you're right, tire brand does matter...

I'm also on 19s but i either prob need 30 profile or drop back to 235 but i really don't want stretched front and not in back plus i had good balance so i don't want add under steer. I just got car pretty neutral with lil oversteer when letting off for turn in by adding camber and rake, figures
