Interesting product. No real info on it though specifying suitability for sensitive computer module programming.

Was intended for RV use so powering 12V accessories. Not sure I would depend on it without more specs available.

There is a reason good quality power supplies are expensive.

And...Welcome to Spool Street!

You don't need anything "suitable for sensitive computer module programming" as there are no sensitive computer modules. Car power supplies (alternator and battery) are horrifically bad so all the modules in a car are very, very well engineered to not be sensitive to noisy power, voltage fluctuations, etc.

This sounds interesting, especially with the project from @NoQuarter and @fmorelli (and @barry@3DM ) with their DIY charger:

I'm not so positive that a computer module doing what it does on a daily basis compared to when it is getting a firmware update that can take a long time is a fair comparison.

CbRadiosPronto sells these and in a variety of flavors, like 50amp, 75amp, and even the popular 100amp model.

I bought this model, 100 amp for $199.99
Welcome to Spoolstreet! This looks interesting, thanks for posting the information. Part of the requirements come from late-model cars (F10, G series, so on) where ISTA+ seems to have pretty high requirements. @Seb335i probably has a better idea if this solution would work across the BMW's. If so that's a nice alternative!

Updated post, switched to 2gauge jumper cable wires. And seller assured me that some BMW shops purchased this unit for that purpose. It even has a 3-stage AND fixed output (what you want it to be set) so you can use it to charge (3-stage) OR program (fixed). It has voltage selection from 13v to 16v.

Also, remember when programming, sometimes stuff get triggered, like fuel pumps, electrical stuff, etc etc, you want to have enough amperage (70 amp is what BMW suggests) for that sudden electricity pull, that's why I went with the 100 amp. They also sell a 120amp version.
