One of the first cars with this product installed.

All I have to say is AWESOME. Well I have to say more but lol...

Got my kit wednesday, installed it Thursday night. It took about 1 hour to install. The most timing consuming task is removing the pins from the OEM connectors. Take your time and do the wiring right. The brown and orange can look the same. I may have screwed one up

haha. All good now!

I installed NGK 97506 plugs at the time, gapped at .024"

Initial thoughts:
- Idle is smooth as a Toyota
- Responsiveness slightly better
- Absolutely no problems getting to redline at 30psi
happyanim.gif

- I was getting a slight misfire at the top of 3rd gear when I'd log and run that gear out, car would shake and you know the deal. Well that's gone. It was definitely a coil cause I'm running the same plugs again
- Everything fits under the stock engine cover (mine was a pain cause I have the wiring going that way for the cowl delete)

Kit was only been installed for 12 hours but SO FAR SO GOOD! lol

Tips for install
- MAKE SURE you push the plug wire firmly down onto the plug
- The 3/8" wire loom is inside the 1/2" loom
iono.gif

- Use a push pin to remove the terminals if you don't have the correct de-pinning tool. It's not a push type like the DME pins, its got two tabs on each side make sure you have both tabs pushed in then yank it from behind.
- DOUBLE check all wiring, white to white, orange to orange and brown to brown.
- Take your time with the wiring, make it look nice!

I will review more this weekend and add to this post, just wanted to get this going. I will include logs as well.

Here are some pics of my install, Enjoy!

Very impressive!

One thing I have to get outta the way.. I love this forum @doublespaces has done a great job at creating a great environment! It's like the other forums are old soviet comblock states and all you can have is what they say

Come here and it's like the United States do what ever you want free country that breeds inovation ect ect ect!

So for the coils.. What a great great thing to have available man! Can't say much more just awesome! For the price it's not too damn far off what someone would spend replacing all 6 coils at dealer price..

Looks like it puches up slightly so you can't unscrew the oil cap. Hopefully this is not true though?

If you route the harness under the mount the cover fits better. It is a little tight so to open/close the cap takes pressure unless you clearance some foam. We thought about this a lot, and ultimately it is kinda just a side effect of the design, these coils are just physically larger than pencil coils, and to preserve ST fitment and everything else a few concessions had to be made. We felt the minor drawbacks were acceptable (the cover can fit 100% with minor cutting, and with a slight bulge that can be worked around without), but yes it is a substantial conversion.

Mines like that and I don't even have the kit installed lol. Are guys still using screws to hold their engine covers? I literally just lay mine on and have so for years.

I have all 4 screws still somehow lol. Currently fitting 3, gonna run harness under the mount like I should have at first and then it'll fit all 4 screws (rear passenger only one not in).

Would really hope that anyone installing this looks at this as an extremely minor trade off based on the return lol! Allows good strong spark at 27lbs of boosts > engine acoustic cover is a tad wonky
Lol

I wonder how well these will be able to be gapped as well lol, only in time will we find out

I could only assume you could gap a little wider with a hotter spark available but the guys that designed it and or own it could answer that for sure..
I've always been from the school of widest gap you can reliably jump.. Makes for better drivability ect but they can chime in I'm sure

Well they are running .026" on 27+psi for a single turbo for over a year, and should be able to do .030 or higher if you want. http://www.megamanual.com/seq/coils.htm has a generic gap calculator at the bottom for a rough estimate of how much voltage it takes to jump a gap. 100kPa is atmospheric, 200kPa is 14.5psi, 300kPa is 30psi; the compression for our motor is 10.5. The coils will put out over 40,000 volts with strong spark, but ultimately you don't need the biggest gap ever, just big enough to get everything ignited smooth and consistent. Most other platforms use .022-.026" for high power E85 cars so I'd start there, but time and more testing will tell for us.
