Since we are now officially in mass production mode, I wanted to start a new thread for tracking and posting updates in. I'll be copying other relevant posts I've made into this one for consolidation and simplification purposes.

I just got off the phone with the head chemical engineer and he said they are almost done preparing the pre-production engineering packets. Once that is complete, they will hand them over to the production engineering team where they will then determine which and how much material will be needed, on hand or needs to be ordered. Then they will secure a production slot in the schedule and begin the line prep/model conversion process. He will keep me updated with any new info he gathers and I will, in turn, update this thread accordingly.

I'll explain a bit how their mass production system works, in particular...once a production slot becomes available, it takes several days to change the production lines over to the new model. I have been to their facility twice so I can confirm how arduous and time consuming this process is. Once production begins, then comes the process stabilization phase where it is likely that a large percentage of scrap is produced until the newly changed over system stabilizes in order to run good quality with good repeatability. However, before any of this can happen, the raw materials need to be in the plant to produce the G3 friction material and this is where the majority of the lead time is and why they cannot 100% commit to a hard delivery date because they are dependent on other suppliers for these raw materials.

Also, I'd like to reiterate a post I made in the Group Buy thread regarding the commitment the company owner made to me to help expedite this process so that you guys get your transmissions as soon as possible. I feel, with this latest update, he's already had a bit of influence since the engineering packets are almost complete.

Jason,

The transparency in the details is awesome. If I remember correctly you will be offering rebuild kits as well, is this something we can also look forward to? Is there a ballpark figure for that type of kit?

Thanks RG. Being transparent is always one of my top priorities.

Regarding the kits...Originally we were going to offer kits but then reversed course since it is absolutely paramount that the transmission be calibrated to the new hardware. We didn't want to put our customers or ourselves at risk by selling kits without the full rebuild and calibration necessary for the transmission to function and perform as intended. Then there's the issue with bushing extraction and installation. You need a lathe to remove the output shaft bushing and even the most experienced transmission shops may or may not have the expertise required to do this correctly without causing damage. Pressing in the new one piece bushings is also a super critical process in that each bushing has a specific press depth which require special press jigs if you don't have the automated machines. Too shallow and the transmission will not assemble correctly, too deep and you run the risk of blocking off a fluid port in the shafts.

Bottom line is that when you buy one of our complete units, you can rest assured that it was disassembled, inspected, correctly reassembled (some of the machines are automated) and fully calibrated which includes a warranty. We feel that this is still the best policy that keeps everyone protected and ensures the most economical option. If we were to ever offer the kits separately, I'll make it known on this forum ;)

Ok guys I finally have an update on production status.
The new ETA is the first week in June so not too much longer.
I'm assuming this is when the material will be done being manufactured? What do you think the ETA is on you accepting Transmissions to be shipped off and produced?

Correct. Production will be complete the first week in June. Then everything will be shipped to EuroTrans, which should only take a few days so we could start accepting transmissions as early as mid June.
