The vibrations on the AD-e mounts are horrific when driving slow. At speed they are perfectly fine though. And the shifts are incredible. I was considering cutting up a spare silicone coupler and making a "bed" for the mounts to sit on, lol.

I might end up going with AKG though. Not sure.

Without basically removing them, how is everyone determining if they are shot?

New turbos failed after 4k miles and I had replaced the stock mounts with the 034 when I replaced the turbos. I was pretty surprised when I was ripping it apart again to find the mounts had already come apart after 4k miles. I guess it could have just been a bad batch, but I mean I wasn't willing to risk putting them back in again. I just put the stock ones back in for the time being until the community comes to a consensus on what a decent aftermarket mount is that has tolerable NVH and doesn't fall apart!

Damnit i hate reading that. literally i just did a ST swap and bought 034 mounts myself and installed them. only like 100 miles on the car since install. How could you tell that they were bad? Motor jumping around???

The black bottom plastic piece and the rubber came loose from the body of the passenger side mount.

Did you have GC’s? Just curious, I played the turbo swap game 3 times before getting a set that seems to be holding up, seems like they fixed the issue with the newest revision, but wow does it suck doing twins 3x in a year. Regarding the mounts, what was the failure mode? I was curious if it’s the same thing mine did, plastic cup at the bottom came out of the metal housing and allowed the rubber inside to have up-down free play. Edit; saw your post explaining what exactly failed, same exact issue here. I’d imagine most of them are failing prematurely but not everyone is catching it right away, bummer because they seem like the best compromise between OeM and a stiff track only type mount.

Nope I had the OEM Plus. I bought them through ECS though and they were really helpful and let me get the Mitsubishi ones as a warranty replacement. Yeah I think a lot more of them are failing then people realize, it wasn't super noticeable when driving the car. Its a bummer too because I was really hoping these mounts would be a long time solution.

regarding the motor mounts: I had the same hopes, they seemed like the perfect replacement. , agreed, its not super obvious when driving, I couldn't believe how little time they lasted, seems like some serious defects in the product. Thats awesome you got some new Oem turbos in the end, hopefully they will last for many years!

My review of 034 motor mounts:

Installed for 6m but I only drove maybe 3k miles at most(blown stockers). So they should be barely broken in.

They look like stock. Feel like stock. They also caused me a headache. Went to install my ACF turbo kit and the turbo was touching the strut tower. I was advised to try new motor mounts. I bought the rev shift 80A and I was sure they would not fix the problem and I would just be dropping the subframe again and having to use washers as spacers as I have seen other do it(hack).

Turns out the 034 motor mounts were junk. Rev shift mounts fit great and gave me the clearance I needed for my ST ACF/VM Turbo set up. No weird vibrations or anything. Very pleased with them.

Fuck 034. I'm contacting the manufacturer. I doubt I will get any money back but it is worth a shot.

If you want a stock like motor mount, go buy stock motor mounts. The 034 are junk. Do not use. Luckily the bottom caps did not fall off like other people have experienced. or I should say did not fall off yet. I never got on the car with the 034 motor mounts because the turbos were blown so they never had to deal with the engine really trying to twist and move at wot through gear changes. Probably would have failed sooner. Anyways just stay away from them. Not many good reviews of them I have seen.

edit: Just had a revelation after taking the car for a spin. It is much easier to get in and out of gear than before. I had the 034 motor mounts and UUC SSK installed at the same time and I just assumed the SSK made the shifting kind of crappy and very notchy(which I had heard). Looks like the 034 were junk even when new. Car shifts much easier/better now. I am guessing because the engine sat lower it somehow affected my shift linkage which made me just skip 2nd gear all day every day and the other gears sucked to get into as well. It's actually fun to shift the car again.

Chris@VargasTurboTech You sort of promoted these when you made the thread. What is your experience with these mounts? So many have had them fail/fall apart or in my case they were just jankety junk. I can't imagine they would last long on a high HP car.

Put a bottle of water in your cup holder. There it is a slight vibration. That's the only way I was able to notice it
Sorry about that rating i fixed it hit dumb instead of reply by accident. I just went through and fixed all my ratings i can't believe how many accidental bad ratings i gave i feel like an ass.

We never had issues with ours, but then things started to get a little more serious with the shop car, so all the things that appealed to us in the first post don't really apply to our current application (we don't run them any more).
