Hello all, so I’m new around here.
I was looking at the walton kit for some time, but I’ve heard a few people say the o2 sensors blow quite a lot, has anyone got solutions or any other turbo kit that is worth getting ?

The ADV sensors are supposedly very good, and I haven’t read anywhere, yet, that they have gone wrong so maybe that’s the idea ?

I’m slowly piecing together a ST RHD kit

If you are Oz based, and depending on the Road Authorities in your state, and the associated difficulties with mods may dictate what kit you choose to use.
ie. Top mount or bottom mount.

I have spent 3 years developing two bottom mount RHD turbo kits. Wanted stealth and less cooling issues.

One is motive based. Not cheap but proven to work over two year of harsh testing in Aussie conditions.

The other is a free flowing tubular design currently getting bolted back on my built motor for the high horsepower nutters. Not many of those left on this platform.
As I can attest, this is an engine breaker and is not cheap.

If you want a budget RHD ST solution (not that there is one) then grab a Simply Tuning manifold and knock it together from there.
Comes down to power goals at the end of the day vs budget.

Hey man, thanks for the speedy reply.
I’m UK based, and I’m sure as you know there is a small amount of people doing quite interesting stuff.
In an ideal world I would like a bottom mount single turbo. But the obvious issue I face is
A. RHD
I know Walton have the kit and as you said on another post ADV, I’ve been looking into the o2 sensor and they do seem like the best bet.

I don’t have extremely high power goals hence why top or bottom doesn’t matter. But top for me ruins the aesthetic so I would try and avoid it. Unless I need to spend serious £££. My budget is a slippery slope into however much I can seriously spend (I know it doesn’t make sense) but I can do a couple grand.

do you know anyone in the UK who has had luck with walton or even a bottom mount ?

thanks bro

Also in regards to this, I see the DOC race has all the oil plugs and coolant relocator, is there anyway I can get those ?

Power costs money. Especially in the RHD ST world doing things properly.
Just go VTT GCs, Pure Stage 2 high flows or RB GFs. Any of these will be a better drive and quicker than a low budget ST setup.

If you have to have ST save more money and do something right the first time.

ST bits are available from many turbo resellers in the USA. VTT has bits, Doc Race has bits, Motiv has bits...etc
Just email them.

Im on the walton kit.. costs me well over £6k in parts and that was installing myself.

amusing you are FBO atm i would go to LFR and do their drive in drive out conversion.. then you only have to worry about tuning

Thanks for the great reply, I’m looking at just doing twin then, and maybe single in the future.
It’s all a lot to do. Yes I did find some bits online after!

Hey, yes I was planning on doing it myself, if the walton kit is £3k can I ask what you spent on the other £3k ? Because I assume that’s downpipe turbo and wastegate and possible water pipe from walton ?

The waste gate isn't in the kit so that's another £500, my turbo was £1800. then you have all the other bits and bobs that start to add up. all the block fittings for oil and cooling, oil lines for the turbo, coolent lines if its water cooled, heat wrap, turbo blanket, turbo filter, pipe work, mac solenoid, either flash tune, JB4 or boost controller, tuning, welding of the DP to current exhaust system, pipework to move the coolant tannk, set of o2s once you burn your OEM ones, coolant and oil & filter.. the list goes on and on!

That’s the fun in it, I’m thinking.

I was looking at getting pure turbo. But I hear lots of people complain about upgrades turbos going boom...
Any opinions ? And it’s not such a big list either

I like the project and the build, so doing this build was fun for me, but wasn't without its headaches. before i went single turbo i had a set of hybrid stage 1 Turbo Dynamics custom tuned on MHD and about 500Bhp

There are a number of guys in the UK having good experiences with the cheap ebay turbos, others with pure VTT, RB and others on the market. but its all about how much you are prepared to spend and what you goals are.

fast 500bhp daily driver.. go hybrid twins
high bhp monster and cool turbo look... go single..

remember in the UK if you want to go higher than 550bhp you need to look at CP meth or PI (either meth or E85) not a lot of use it in tank E85 as its just too expensive.

Hey Josh I have decided to go down the Hybrid route,

I was planning on doing meth first, is it a good idea to run it from the boot (in a tank) or from the washer fluid, I would ideally like it to be as safe as possible

Run it from the boot.. dont even think about running it from the washer tank. Thats a fire waiting to happen

Okay, thanks man, is the BMS kit worth it ?
I’ve also seen people saying when you run hybrid on BM7
Any opinion on that?

There are lots of different meth kits. All have + and - If you already have a JB4 than yes, use their meth kit.

If not aquamist I think is the most complete kit, while also the most expensive. @Twisted Tuning has a good meth kit for sale for the platform as well.

Make sure whatever you get has a flow sensor and all the safeguards etc. built in.

I prefer the aquamist for a large number of reasons but the flow sensor, fav, tank level sensor, multiple micron filters, can do DP meth, and gauge which shows flow % and low tank meth level as well as having a button to turn it all off seems to be the best stand alone kit in my opinion.

NEVER use the WW tank. Get a real baffled tank made for meth regardless.

Hey man, thanks for all that info, with the JB4 is the aqua mist still a possible option or should I just stay with BMS?

It's cheaper to stick with BMS if you already have the JB4 wired in and you like it. @Terry@BMS can explain why you might want to run meth via JB4 over aquamist better than I can.

That being said, I really like the aquamist gauge, tank level sensor, FAV, etc. I think it's the best complete meth kit. But I am partial to it as it's what I run.
