Second Gear Launches

I have attempted launching twice in M mode using second gear but on both occasions, the transmission automatically changed into 3rd around 3,500 rpm and ruined the run. I assume it has something to do with a torque setting that is causing this to occur. Those of you who launch in 2nd gear, what is the trick. I am sure a 2nd gear launch could improve my times as removing one shift saves around 0.3s.

there is no trick. I am having the same issue when i have my drag radials in the back. If i keep the tires under 20psi and it actually hooks without spinning, it will go into third. If i keep it 20psi or over it will spin a bit and stay in 2nd. Too much torque. Try doing a trans service and change the sleeves and seals that are all under the valve body. I havent done it myself but supposedly fluid leaks as the pressure builds and makes it slip into third

The condition of my transmission isn't an issue as it has only done 2,000 kms since being fully upgraded by Nizpro. Also, with 1st gear launches has managed a 1.57s 60' time. As you mentioned, torque appears to be the issue. I might try reducing the torque in 2nd gear with the xhp customisation module.

What type of power are you putting down ? Log with pro tools and see if trans is limiting torque at all. 3rd gear is prob the strongest cause it doesn't require and brakes so if the brake slips it will be in third from second. Also check adaptations. I do believe tho If you report 737lb that Is the limit and you need to scale l2t tables in that case.

The last time I had it on a dyno (DynoDynamic Dynometer) was 18 mths ago and the output was 553hp which would be around 630hp on a Dynojet. Log for the run.
