If you haven't been already, newtis has really helped me out a lot, or any time you have access to the wiring diagram stuff in ISTA. Also, that solenoid is activated with a PWM signal. it gets a constant 12v and a PWM. The PWM is actually better used for activating a secondary LPFP. The constant 12v, just use it to power the solenoid and a wireless relay which activates the solenoid.

Ya, I've tryed to download the BG version of those programs with no luck, that mega app is a mess. I bought a loaded laptop with all the software, that's a bust! So been on my own reference for now till I have time to call them to square it away. What solenoid are you referring to?

The mega app works just fine. If you are trying to download couple hundred gig of data with a free account your gonna have a hard time.

download the desktop app, pay the $10 and and will download with no problems.

Props for taking this on.

I've been slowly retrofitting items into the car but so far its all been superficial (M-Sport items, Folding seats, Window shades). My next retrofit is the PDC system but it seems to be an ungodly amount of work over buying something from bimmertech

It's on going affair, and done a bunch of reading on by best option. Since I have to pull the carpet, rear seats, and radio facia, I'm putting together what else I'll need since I'm also doing an n54 swap. There is so much out there, it seems I would be going backwards with the logic 7. What I mean by this is, would it be better to keep it analog and run a higher amp in place of the basic amp. I also like the android setup for this instead of putting the ccc in, I can't justify putting any nav in this as Google and Wase, seem to be the best for directions. No one really does this anymore, its easier to go fbo with the engine out.

This is awesome, try for the info. Still putting the wiring together on this, but along the way, found the Android option may be a better option as it has more to offer. Giving this a lot of thought, I may just sell the ccc and go with the android. Work and a 22mth baby girl has taken more time than antisappated with this. It's not a wash by far, pulled the turbos for a diy stage 1, buying what's needed for the n54 swap.

I'm sure this isn't feasable for anyone wanting a n54. This is being done for a few reasons, rwd, low milage engine, all fbo, and diy stage ones all before going in. Going thru all the gaskets, and issues before hand from what others have been thru. There isn't much for rwd, that's going to have the milage that I have. I'm doing this on a budget, 450+ with nitrous!

What? You want to make your own turbo kit but need someone else to make some arbitrary measurement first? Clearance between what and what? Just doesn't seem to add up to me.

I'm just wondering since he has the motor out and it easier to measure the distance with it off? what doesn't add up?

Just the arbitrary "where the turbos sit". I can't imagine a scenario where I was to say 8.2" and you would say "great! All I needed to know!"

its just to get an idea don't get all defensive obviously this won't make me instantly start building a kit just an idea on clearance

Defensive? You asked for a clarification on why I didn't understand how this request could work.

So it’s been a while, my whole work schedule from Thanksgivings till March was exporting steel, and importing salt ships, so whatever time I could squeeze into was at night. So now that it subsided for now, it’s time to go full force.

Turbo select are huge in this area, i first tried sending them out to a vendor here, the communication and concerns were to much so they were sent back to me. I acquired the services at Pavel Race Engines in Illinois who specialize in Subi engines, and Mitsi turbos. These are a stage one, 9blade turbine 14t comp, I done the gates myself, nothing fancy, but doing this myself, I saved $900.

The engine is out of a 535xi that I bought for all the modules, 60,xxxk on the clock. All the gaskets have been done, as well as all the acelaries, a nut blast, stock plugs and index 5+8 injectors, and the Bosch coils. I have index 11 to put in, but want to get the car running before I replace what won’t work. Replacing parts for the sake of just replacing, are worthless if there doing the job. I could never understand this concept how guys replace it since your there, anyway...
