So I have narrowed my next turbo down to the speedtech kit. I dont really want to take a chance with another twin kit and then be stranded on the side of the road after 20k miles. So you guys that do have them, how do you like the kit so far and do you have any suggestions on parts or accessories I should purchase prior to installing the kit?
I am still on the fence between boost box and ebc, I'm going for a reliable build that will max out around 600whp since I'm auto. I already have index 12s, all new coils, Ngk plugs, ofhg, and all the other maintenance stuff.

Doc race has great black Friday deals going on right now. Unless you don't like top mount

The kit is great, I would recommend a properly sized Garrett turbo. You will need a gasket for turbo/manifold. Jeff recommends Permatex Ultra Copper Maximum Temperature RTV Silicone Gasket Maker. Also, I used OEM O-ring's on the plugs and it sealed perfectly, supplied O-rings were too thin. Get a turbo blanket if you can, there is room to fit It and exhaust heat wrap. Install is sooooo much easier than uninstalling the twins. It is possible to install with only lowering the subframe. I would skip the boostbox, it seems to be a hit or miss and gave me nothing but issues. Soon as I installed a real EBC, I was making boost beyond gate on the very first attempt. Gforce, Greddy, Turbosmart etc. are all much better options. You can pair this with a 02 wideband for extra safety features.

Honestly i like the stealth look of the speedtech and keeping the heat down and away from the valve cover. You would do garret over percision say a 6266? thanks for the insight on the o rings! Are you using ntk o2 sensors at all?

Yes, I am using NTK for all my o2's. Holding strong still since feb/march. It seems so far the speedtech does not burn up O2's like other single turbo kits. I personally went Garrett to take advantage of having a water cooled turbo. Some will argue it is over kill, but I thought of it as, "I already have coolant ports, why not use them?" I went with a GTX 3076r and I have plenty of room to grow. My powerband is from 3k to redline. The turbo spools so quickly. If I did not get a Garrett I would of went with a Gen2 5862 or Gen2 6062 at most. My goals are similar to yours.

I have a SpeedTech kit with a Borg 364. Kit performs well and install wasn't bad just make sure your turbo is clocked right before everything is torqued.
Jewgo is right about the gaskets and turbo blanket. Order the coating for the manifold.

I wouldn't advise against going with DocRace. Their kit's sound, look, and perform good they were just a lot more $ at the time I was looking for a kit. I'd go with a BB Garret GTW either way.

You guys think the garret will outlast the percision and Borg warner? What rpm do you hit full boost with the 364? coming from the 4g63 evo world most people were running percision but when i had my is300 it was more Borg warner lol

I've driven a couple top mounted 64mm GTWs and they felt a little more responsive around town (and are rated for more power) than my 364 . That's something I'd pay a few hundred more $ for.

My target rises with RPM. I can hit 18 psi by 4k in 3rd on e85 .

Being auto you have to go boostbox don't you?
That is what I was told and the route I went. Something about the trans computer freaking out if it didn't see boost as a factor of load/torque.

I went with the S366. Don't have it up and running yet and it's way more turbo than you need. I'll 3rd the blanket and header wrap.

The silicone on the couplers could have been better, however, at the price point it will suffice. I plan to fab those couplers to prevent leaks and them blowing off. Vband everything. Jeff was more than helpful with all questions.Depending on when you're trying to purchase I will have my 6266JB for sale. No issues...just have a feeling I'm gonna want more headroom come FEB/MAR

Incorrect. I am auto and run a EBC. Get a real EBC over the boostbox

Im pretty set on going with the bw s362sxe and G force 3 boost controller. Ill have a bung welded in the downpipe for the wideband and setup a fail safe as well. hopefully the s362 inst too big and i can fit the water pump without to much massaging.

My 364 fits fine with the supplied water pump bracket.

I just installed a 6466 on my XI. I had the motor out but it shouldn't be hard. Pull the axle and then you can pull the part that mounts to the oil pan that the axle goes through for even more room. The hot part stuff fits perfectly. Nothing XI related messed with anything. The only issue with this is how spaghetti mess all the coolant hoses are at the water pump/thermostat area. Jeff provides a bracket to move the water pump forward which holds solid.

great thanks! coming from blown Vargas twins this will be a nice improvement would like to go top mount but on a tight budget for the moment and speed tech seems to making the perfect in the middle product for people looking for affordability, reliability, and gains.

Doc race is extremely comparable pricing to speedtech right now for Black Friday

I bought my kit using affirm that's also an option just tell them you make way more than you actually do and you'll probably get zero percent interest I had a high Interest rate.
