Looks great man, can't wait to see this progress!
Thanks Tiago, and thanks for your support thus far.
I just did a quad projector retro on my car and used info from your hidplanet postings, big props E. Anytime I think I'm cutting a corner with my car work I think about the details on this wagon lol.
Sick! PM me a link if you have one for your build!
Very nice build thread! Some serious attention to detail here.

Thanks for the kind words! Prost! Glad to know the build threads don't go unappreciated!
My engine had 105,000 miles (~170,000km) but only ran the Hexons for about 5,000 miles before the motor blew and yes, I believe the issue was supplemental fuel system and a misfire. I was running throttle body injection instead of port injection.

So what you gonna do for fueling now?
I Think TBI is not the best, cause the fuel gets not seperated even? Was your Flash based on TBI? So you tick it off as unlucky accident with Connection to the "high" milage?

TBI is great for what it is but far from ideal for accurate fuel distribution. I will be running a Evolution of Speed PI manifold in conjunction with some upgraded Fuel-It lines + ethanol sensor. My LPFP is still a Fuel it Stg2 (single Walboro 450) but after the wagon is up and running well I will build a custom dual LPFP setup which will enable me to run full E85 on my hybrids.

Evan - jones'n for an update. What's been going on?
Progress is being made, sit tight.

Keep it up man, truly an amazing looking ride!
Thank you

No, I have been putting good miles on my buddies 6466 335xi and the big singles are not for me on a daily driven car, I need faster spool. That being said I would LOVE a big ST 2JZ as a weekend/ rip your face off/ racing car but twins offer enough power to meet my goals and the spool is fantastic.
Just checked back in. I don't know how much of a penny you spent on all the parts but, man... you are truly bringing that thing to life!
I have certainly spent money but considering all the modifications, parts, and labor I am getting things done at a fraction of what it would normally cost.

Love the interior pieces swapped. I have similar planned for my doors & rear quarters. Seat backs made a big difference too. Now you got me thinking...

I'm in process of doing the same with my sea of gray with black. I like the lci panels, but I would have to buy 4 panels to two tone, and I definaly want the rug, and thought about the pillars, rockers, and headliner. Still on the hunt, getting some paint work. I'm following your treads, it's awesome work!

This post recaps my blown motor and motor "refresh" and swap.

April 2016 I blew my motor (with 105,000) while doing some datalogging, I recently removed the boost limit in 2nd gear and my goal was to practice my driving skills and modulate the throttle and 23psi in 2nd gear. At the top of second it felt and sounded like 3-4 sledgehammers in unicen hit the underside of my engine, the car immediately shut off and going about 40mph I grabbed the wheel and applied brakes. The rear wheels were going through an oil slick being laid my the engine and my wagon was sliding towards the curb, the front wheels were turned to the left but I was understeering due to rear being broken loose. Eventually the oil subsided enough for the rear wheels to grip, slow down the wagon, and allow the front wheels to hook up .....just in time. I had red curb paint on my front wheel and bumper but the wagon received to major impact, the engine did however, lol.

It is hard to say with absolute certainty what happened as I wasn't logging when this happened but the carnage points to detonation on cylinder 3 which was likely due to my throttle body injection and the slight delay between DME shut-off and supplemental fuel system during a misfire.

aaaaand boom goes the dynamite...

Funny thing is this tow truck driver had picked me up before when I snapped an axle, he says: "what did you do this time?!"

Craigslist find: 35,000 miles N54 from a totaled 335is. I snagged it for $800, it was complete minus turbos but some of the other bolt-ons were damaged like the manifold, throttle body, valve cover; the oil pan and bump took the brunt of the damage during the car's accident. I rolled the dice knowing if the engine was scrap I could sell the good components and recover money.

I ended up selling the fuel system and some other engine components for $950 so free N54 for me.
