19Ts are looking great.

I wouldn't take too seriously a few comments above, the whatsapp group has some big name tuners inc David Shoup and Ken Atkinson, someone who bought the 19t was in just to cause controversy. (probably a competing vendor). There's a lot of people in the group and a lot of good advice just wait for a space to join.

I would definitely vsr them if you can.
The ones I'm still running 2 years now are fine and I never did, but I would suggest it's better to do so.

0.2g balance is exactly within spec, balance sheet showed 0.5max.
Plus your hairline cracks you've seen? I think you've been smoking too much Dutch produce little man.
The little chipped off corner has nothing to do with the seal, which is the oring behind it.
End of the day you got turbos sub 1k which would cost 3-4k from any branded vendor and then expected the same quality control, and yet best efforts still failed to find anything terminal.
Anyone wanting to help you including the vendor you just fight with, so yeah, out to cause controversy.

You've proven they're within the supplied balance sheet's tolerance which showed a max 0.5g. Enjoy your echo chamber of 16. A couple of year short of your age.

It's like me buying a Yugo and holding it to the same quality control of Mercedes. Not sure why you even bought them in the first place, and now you have a bad case of buyer's remorse as everyone can see, and just forwards messages from your little echo chamber for the rest to laugh at.

Mine gives me a 4 year option for $180. Can’t beat that considering I could just return the turbos to kohl’s lmao

Don’t waste money on the square trade warranty, it won’t cover the turbos...on the plus side tho VIV autoparts will send you new chras under warranty without much of a fight.

The thread is like a great way to inform people of the reality these turbos present.
The above turbo balance measurements highlight the need to get them balanced.
0.5g even 0.2g as shown above is sub par garbage.
But, to be fair if they advertise and you have a balance sheet that says they balance to 0.5 , then at least you know you have work to do, when you buy them.

b4llistic's pics show parts that would normally be thrown on the reject/recycle pile at a turbo manufacturer. Probably part of the reason they are cheap. Pick up imperfect 2nds parts for scrap prices bung them in the turbo. Arguably they are picking bits which might be functional with cosmetic damage but, with iron based parts the reason things chip is often in the metal structure, not just a clumsy machinist.

Although , the smart people arent saying these are comparible to pures etc.
Pay a 3rd of the price expect a 3rd of the quality or 3 times the hassle. Or at least you should be prepared to do some extra work.

Cheap/powerful/reliable pick 2.

So far I dont think we have any 17t let alone 19t china turbos in the leaderboards for 1/4mile or 1/2mile or cutting great circuit times , nor are we likely to. Not saying thats bad by the way.
As the cheap approach means if you dont have the coin to do the rest well, then cutting things like fueling , drivetrain and tyres are likely going to let the car down, even if there is some power. Good for power burnouts on the cheap and there is totally nothing wrong with that by the way. 😁👍

Hi Pumpkin, I don't have any experience with the 19t but I spent 16 grand on the car last year with a built engine, port injection, LSD, all the fancy bits (including having to buy two sets of pistons, as the first set I ordered from Andy Divers never arrived and was never refunded, he ripped me off for $1099 and stopped replying to my emails when I asked for a refund after waiting four months for the pistons to arrive - beware).

I bought the 17t turbos because I'd seen very good results elsewhere and eventually want to push the button on a single turbo conversion, so I thought I'd give them a try, so it's not always a case of trying to do things on the cheap for the sake of it.

I can tell you that the turbos arrived without any problems and I fitted them without balancing. They spool extremely quickly and hold boost to the redline with ease. At 27psi, WGDC is at around 70% and I made 654whp, and still tuning. No problems or issues for me whatsoever so far.

Just my personal experience and 2 cents.

Be good to see how you go once its fully tuned on the track, will give the setup a good test.

So is the single turbo on the cards still if the china specials give up?
Once you start trying to go fast it gets expensive haha..

I got mine from 1st Racing. As I understand it, they are all the same product, just being sold under different sellers and franchises. The car is very fast and responsive, the only reason I haven't completed the tune is because of excessive timing corrections which I'm still chasing and is another thread, but that's certainly nothing to do with the turbos. It's on revision 12 so fairly well developed. I do have another revision with more timing at the top but can't use it yet.

Yes I'll be going for a bottom mount single in the long term, I just thought it would be fun to see what maximum I could get out of these 17t turbos for a laugh and a bit of information for the community. 27-28psi, PI, built motor and around 10.5-11 deg timing.
