After running a 10 second pass in my 135i, I was really curious what it weighed. So, I found a local weigh station and put it on the scale. I even brought my stock BMW 335i to find out the difference in weight between the two.

135i weighed 3,300lbs without a driver.
335i weighed 3,600lbs without a driver.

For more details, like the weight reduction I've already done on the 135i and how much gas each car had, check out my video below. I ripped the 135i at the beginning, so it's worth watching anyways.

I never weighed my E90 before I started so thanks for the reference! My ultimate goal is to get down to 2600 lbs with the cage. I'm estimating I'll be at 2800ish for phase 1. Still some low hanging fruit like cutting out the doors, lightweight crash bars, etc.

OEM sport seats are 60 lbs a piece and the sunroof is 30ish lbs. Ditch those ASAP. Get a Kirkey seat and Hard Motorsport sunroof delete panel!

Like I mentioned on your Facebook post I have a list of what the majority of items weigh which I'll post eventually.

This is actually not true for all models. I've had my car apart completely and there is no weight, at least nothing visible or removable, on the rear crash bar or anywhere.

Got my E82 down to 3091lbs but then threw a 75lb roll bar in :(

I can't believe you didn't get a base weight before starting! 2,600lbs with a cage would be crazy, honestly. I'd be very impressed if it's still a BMW after that.

I look forward to the list you upload at some point, will give me a good idea on where I can start.

I looked for this a while back and never found anything.

Glad I wasn't alone. I didn't see anything when I looked in my E82.

3091lbs is great! Even with the rollbar added, that's something worth the weight.

You don't have this?

interesting to note that 1M don't have that weight, and have a much stiffer rear crash bar.

@Rob09msport it's so hard to tell which direction that photo was taken from, but trust, I've been under the car, I've taken off the crash bar, haven't seen anything that separates. Wish I found it, but the cross weight is already off because it's so easy to pull weight from the rear. Either way, would be happy to shed more pounds, just not willing to gut this thing yet.

BMW prob figures the 1m is in constant state of acceleration so the weight is shifting rear anyways.
Seriously though I would def be more concerned with front weight cause we don't drive Audi's for a reason noone wants a plow.

FMIC is a major issue there.

There are plenty of other "big ticket" items to tackle before modifying crash bars. Just need to ask yourself "how far am I willing to go?"
