I liked it! (Sorry- Doubles was correct)
No worries!

Catless dp's, secondaries removed with pe mod and 3.5" tips. Absolutely no drone and has a nice tone at wot.
I had this setup except with vibrant resonators in place of the secondary cats, and an X pipe where main E90 resonator is (if you have an E90) and I REALLY enjoyed the noise, it sounds exotic at the right rpms.

The best exhaust tone set up I've had on my e92--stock downpipes with Dinan axlebacks.

YEA, I SAID IT!

Vrsf Dp and BMW performance exhaust. At first was too noisy for me with DP but got used to it. Now sounds awesome in both normal and aggressive driving. And retains the civility of the Performance Exhaust in city driving. With ZERO drone.

CP-E hi-flow DP. Stock exhaust to mufflers and then I don't know what they are. Came with car but not stock. I looked and it has no markings on them anywhere.

I'm running top mount single turbo with HPF 3.5 exhaust single pipe to back where it splits to 3" titanium blue tips,I personally love the sound.when you get on it such raw sounding power.and with the single turbo the tone is different

I had mine built by Mandrel Bend Solutions. It is a work of art, most of it mandrel bent instead of 400 bend welds. High-flow cats mounted mid-pipe with post-cat 02 sensors wiring moved to behind mid-cats. Magnaflow mufflers was their recommendation. Sounds great, flows, looks beautiful, and for a Z4 was a great solution in the face of poor choices.

Currently: decat DP, OE N54 midpipe, MadDad Whisper axleback. Been through a few configurations and the one has a nice deep note, howls at WOT without any drone, and turns plenty of heads without being too obnoxious. Keep in mind this is a 135i where exhaust is a veritable pain in the ass. Can't imagine trying to find a solution for a Z4.

Gonna change a bit soon though. In the process of putting together a custom diffuser to accept a modified axleback section, and will be rethinking the midpipe section once I ditch the twins. Can't decide on whether to do twin 2.5" mids with an X pipe, or a single 3-3.5" mid all the way back to the axleback.

@fmorelli what brand high flow cats did you use in the midpipe on your exhaust build? What was the cell count?

VM top mount single turbo with a 3.5" dp to stock catback with dixis titanium axle back. I wish I could get titanium midpipes to go with the titanium axle back.

If somene made an off the shelf 4" exhaust for the n54 they would do very well.

Iirc only the corsa and vrsf are the off the shelf 3.5" optons.

I run the stock PE exhaust currently. Sounds great imo.

People are already having ground clearance issues with 3.5" exhaust. I feel any OTS 4" system would have to be oval piping at least for the main middle section, and that would add to the cost.

I'm running a custom dual 2.5" that started as a milltek catback, but then which my fabricator cut up because it fit like shit. resonated straight pipe with 2 J pipes for drone around 2,300 rpm

Here's mine: AR Designs 3" kitty-less DP's -> resonators -> 2.5" magnaflow x-pipe -> 4" no muffler tips on 2.5" SS piping.
