I finished installing mmp inlets, outlets and Dps, I will say DPs were so much easier to do when inlets, and outlet was removed, putting the mmp inlets was such a bit*h!!! Omg getting the rear turbo inlet elbow in was so much of a hassle, I removed the Dp's out and spent 4-5 hours on my own, then the next day my brother in law came by to give me a hand (also works on plenty of n54s and he said it was a nightmare.. took us about 2 hours together trying to get it into place, get the clamp ring in the right spot then tighten it down and pray it doesn't move. Next time im going to do it, i will just drop the turbos (or better yet drop the whole motor) themselves which would save alot of time. MMP also recommended that you heat wrap the outlet as they are prone to melting from the intake manifold then to try and secure it away... kinda wish they disclosed that before selling it. It all bearly fits in place I dont know how many others have done this on the 1 series, but man it all fits in there tight, like really tight. I did send mmp photos of everything and hopefully nothing melts since they are all close to the manifolds.

anyways here are some pics of it all.

How do you like the setup? Boost comes on sooner huh? We had to cut the rear factory inlet. In fact, we did a lot of cutting for the factory ones lol. Our patience was tested for sure.

That makes alot of sense, I recently got my ngks and was told by my tuner to gap them to 0.018, hopefully those will work out for me.

I experimented with 0.018 at one point when I was running the factory coils. It helped my misfires when I was at 0.022. Don't forget to pull the injectors once in a while to clean the tips from carbon and replace each seal. Your happy foot (gas) will thank you.

I never actually though about it. I probably should do that now since the car is apart.

Finally received my Mishimoto catchcan. Got it all plumbed up with my supra inline pvc valve and ade fitting! Installed new eldor coilpacks, new valve cover gasket, and new vacuum lines.

I noticed my spark plug gap on my NGK where a little larger then .022. I gapped them down and i still had a miss on cold start. I figure im in need of injectors. This was on MHD v8 beta. I switched back to the v7 map and it idles better. Make sense?

Got my bumpers back from the autobody shop today, Front bumper was destroyed from rock chips and rear bumper was pretty bad from the marring and previous owner backing into something and creating a wave where the trunk sits. Cant wait for this snow to melt to finally put these puppies on and polish the car.

Ps. my office is now a storage space for all my car parts hahah :joycat::joycat:

So last night, I finally got around to putting on my VRSF 7'' HD fmic, was a little bit awkward pairing it up to the MMP outlets, as i needed to make adjustments to the coupler to fit. mocked up the rest of the pluming and VRSF cp, Tial Bov, and mocking the brackets to mount the ps reservoir and coolant tank. I got into more details in my build thread.. which hopefully will be posted in the near future!

  1. Replaced Valve Cover Gasket on Son's 335i. It was new but the shop that did it prior to his purchase somehow managed to install it so it leaked. My guess was they scratched up the surface trying to remove the old one so this one went on with some gasket dressing. He also plugged the PCV ports that go into the head and installed low pressure side catch can.
  2. Replaced valve cover gasket on my 2008 535xi at 120,000 miles. The thing must have been original because is cracked and broke in places pulling it out of the cover.

Did downpipes and catback over the weekend. Reflashed MHD to Stage 2. Got a code of 2A98 for the inlet cam. Swapped solenoids for VANOS, now I have 2A82 and 2A87. Sadly leave town in the morning for a week so when I get back I'll try cleaning the solenoids, and swapping them back before ordering new ones.
