Hey Spoolstreet,

So I am trying to organize this Group Buy and we have already gotten a few people to sign up from different forums with some dependent on the final price. This is from the XClutch Rep: "We're also open to a group buy if you think you have enough numbers to do so." I am thinking if we get to at least 10 people then we might have something, 20 people I'm sure would mean a stellar price for all of us.

Let me know if you are interested, I'll throw you on the list! :)

If you have not heard of XClutch it is because they originated in Australia but they are now boosting up their US presence. They have will have clutch kits available through American distributors for various platforms including the N54, EVO, Mustang, Motorsport applications, etc.

Currently a few Forum members are running this upgrade without issue on their N54's that are pushing considerable torque. So far everyone's reports are quite positive.

XClutch has introduced a new twin disc organic clutch kit for BMW 135i and 335i. The new performance upgrade has been designed specifically for high horsepower vehicles that are still driven on the street.

Consisting of two 230mm organic clutch discs, alloy racing pressure plate and single mass chromoly flywheel, the new kit provides 1300kg clamp load whilst still offering exceptional driveability. The kit also includes a thrust bearing and steel clutch alignment tool. A variety of options are also available to suit either a 6 bolt or 8 bolt crankshaft.

“We are pleased to be able to offer new twin disc kits to suit the BMW 135i and 335i.” says Brenton Jordan, Australian Clutch Services Managing Director, “The new kits will be ideal to suit demand from Australia and our various international markets.”

XClutch also lists a twin plate ceramic and twin plate carbon version of the clutch for racing applications as well as a variety of single plate options. The kits fit E92 and E93 versions of the 335i, E82 and E88 versions of the 135i and the E89 3.0L BMW Z4.

I am SURE there are more people who need clutch's now with the "New" Shift Bog Fix....

The conversion rate comes out to just below $2,000 USD including shipping and full warranty... I'm thinking this Group buy will be a significant discount depending on how many are interested.

@martymil has the most experience with this cutch, I am pretty sure this is his engine in the photos.

I'm already on the list from another forum but can't wait for this to be a reality. Definitely looking forward to getting one of their full face street twin discs on the 1er.

I have the dual clutch 230mm ceramic (unsprung hub) 6 puck per disc, 8 bolt flywheel. Price came out to 1668.27 (2177 aud) after shipping and everything else.

Excellent instructions, clear detail on how to install the TOB, TOB was good quality, alignment tool is metal and good quality. I have 1000 miles on it now, I love it.

The pedal is lighter than my 2004 4.0 TJ.

It can be a little scary gripping if you're too quick on the pedal, but if you pay attention, it lets me have smoother starts than my old SPEC 3+, it also holds much more power. I cant speak to longevity, but I love the thing so far.

I've been running this clutch for a while now, the organic street version.

We are currently on the verge of breaking some hp records using the gc 2.0, it's been flawless and has given us no grief with missfires, its absolutely perfect..

Its light on tne pedal, gearbox chatter is virtually non existant and its so easy to drive you'd think it was a stock clutch in there.

@BSimmi15, why the $330 discrepancy here? Can one assume group buy should be a good deal less than $1668 then?+

The price BSimmi15 gave in AUD lines up with what I said, it was 2177, which is right where he said it would be. If there is any price difference, its likely due to changes in exchange rate.

Today's exchange rate is .72 USD : 1 AUD, thus 2177 is 1561.02 USD, even less than what I paid, so the exchange rate must have gone down sense I paid.

EDIT: I thought I had seen him post the AUD price, but he didnt. So the above may be wrong.

Its possible the organic version is more expensive, and/or the sprung hub version is more expensive as well.

My fault,

I meant to say AUD on my post yesterday... it is actually looking like $1,600USD after the exchange rates. So we can assume that this could end up in the $1,200-$1,400 range.

Crazy price for a high quality Twin Disk.

Thanks,
