So once the app is downloaded on my kindle fire tablet just plug it into the obd2 same as if I was going to load one of the the MHD tunes, then it will look to see the car's info and once recognized I can dl whichever ots map I choose with the super license purchase? Any tricks or tid bits to look out for? Long load times, backing up of any files required, etc? THANKS! Plan on doing this this afternoon. Just completed fbo on stage 2+ this past weekend and now want to address the "lazy" A6 trans.

Best is to take glimpse on the manual: http://www.xhpflashtool.com/resources/xhp_manual.pdf

Reading over the FAQ it’s kind of confusing; is this saying I should load the MHD Stage 2+ and choose the “manual transmission” option? Trying to figure out with transmission option to choose when running the xhp.

I currently have the xhp Stage 2 loaded.

Trackday with 6AT N54/N55 NEXT LEVEL!

Just update app to 1.1.94 and get the Trackday Setup (Stage 4)!

Available for E-Series 135i/335i/535i The Trackday Setup (Stage 4) tailores the transmissions S-mode to be used on the Race Track! Drivers won't have to concentrate on shifting, but can fully focus on braking and cornering. The transmission will shift close to how an experienced driver would shift with a manual transmission and keep you in the optimal rev-range and balance at all times.

This setup can be used on any race track, as it deletes a lot of the transmissions driver type calculation functions and shift programs, which are useful during street use, but get in the way on the track.

Map description:
- S Mode shift program adapted to full race track use
- Drivertype calculation and adaptive shift programs disabled
- Adjustable shift RPM between 6000 and 7000 rpm (through kickdown switch)
- Shift inhibit during lateral-G up to 6800 rpm
- Shifts altered for speed & keeping the car in balance under hard cornering

Test car setup:
335i xDrive N55 6-Speed Auto Transmission (Steptronic, 6HP21)
xHP Stage 4 Race Track Flash (90% done on video)
MHD Stage 1+
Wagner Downpipes
Wagner Competition EVO 1 intercooler
KW V3 Suspension, setup by Wolfgang Weber
19" Continental Sport Contact 6 tyres
Millway Motorsport adjustable camber plates
335is cooling ducts
M2 calipers front
Tarox F2000 discs 370mm/336mm front/rear
Ferodo DS2500 brake pads front/rear
Tarox Road Race brake fluid
Stainless steel brake lines

Oh this is too cool! @Tippin @Venom77

@RayBan I am wondering, is it possible to do a Stage 3/4 hybrid, where Stage 3 sport takes over D and Stage 4 Sport takes over DS?

I am thinking perhaps there are some track people who would like to drive this way. I drive in DS very often already and I don't track my car.

Also, how do you adjust the shift RPM? Can this feature be added to the Stage 3?

All of these improvements would be valuable on the DCT too. If we just had a tool that was capable of pulling the DCT bin and flashing updated bin's we could allow the community to try and tackle these same issues :)

I won the giveaway a few months back and was initially skeptical of flashing my transmission.

Having had Alpina since week 1 of its release and having gone thru the rigorous adaptation procedure outlined by ZF in the past, my confidence in a re program without including the ZF adap reset was limited. As the months passed, I followed updates and was in discussion with my tuner regarding what was being posted. After some substantial updates made by the developer I finally felt comfortable enough to flash the program. I'll go over my thoughts briefly:
*Procedures may have changed since time of flash
The vehicle 2010 E92 335i Single Turbo (PTE 6266)
1. Prep, flash, adapt.
Backup: The app will require you to do a stock map back up. This took approx. 30 min. I would not try this without at min. a 15amp charger. A trickle charger would not cut it and depending on the health of your battery, attempting to back up without one would be reckless.

Getting the map flashed on the car required another initial long flash. Again, if you attempt to do this without a charger, you'll be risking a mid flash fail of your battery.

Once I had the map flashed (stage 3), I baby'd the car for the next 50-100 miles. Slowly increasing torque load as the miles passed. I didn't opt for single turbo map as I don't really have much lag down low with my tune and any adjustments to account for that I did not feel were needed.

2. Initial impressions. Shift times while may have been improved in M mode but felt identical. I always drive the car in M, unless on a tight track. There was however a significant improvement in cold behavior. Previously shifts would be very stiff when cold, requiring a let off at shift to minimize stress. Cold behavior now seemed to be near identical to ideal temp behavior.

3. Extended impression, race impressions. One benefit I glazed over and was abruptly reminded of during a roll race was auto shift disabling when in M mode. It'll bounce off redline rather than shift which is very handy...now that I've been reminded of it. Where I saw the biggest benefit is track. As much as I love M mode, S mode just makes life easier in autox and this mode is where the flash truly shines. S mode is much more aggressive, shifts much more in line to a track style environment. Was the first time I was truly impressed with the flash. Once you add that with the continued R and D being put in to the product, and customizability, the app seems to be a rather significant step for the platform. Kudos to developers and thank you to SpoolStreet.com for the generous give away.

As someone who is trying to go max efforts on stock turbos in the 1/4mile, what kind of gains could I expect between stage 2 and stage 3? Is it worth the extra $90 for me to upgrade? If I could shave a full tenth in the 1/4 i would consider it.

Honestly, we never did direct comp. between Alpina and Stage 3, but there are multiple users claiming gains.

I finally broke down and installed stage 3 a couple days ago. For anyone left on the fence it's worth every penny. Once the adaptations are set and you get on it, wow! Further, there is nothing like bouncing off the rev limiter, doing massive burnouts (for scientific purposes of course) with an Automatic.

I'm a little confused here. Been running stage 3 for a while now (2009 335xi), what is the latest map version? When I connected it had a v2.0 and multiple prior versions past the one I already had flashed. Is there somewhere that explains the version/revision changes? Thanks.

edit: oops never mind. It's on the OTS map detail in the app. I went ahead and flashed v2.0.

My xhp version was extremely old, I went to update today and see it goes up to v2.0, but ST is all the way back at 1.5. if you're ST, which I am, should Yu only flash the v1.5? Or the v2.0

You can use all versions. Thats not a technical thing. We decided to discontinue the ST maps, because people were confused all the time. In the future xHP will support altering shiftpoints up/down inside the app, so that will take car of that anyway.

Ah that'll be nice, I tried 2.0 but shift points were way too low for ST. So I went back to 1.5.

Found that feature last night for my 135i - that's a remarkably cool add-on license!
Very happy to have shift point control!

They offer Stage 4 I believe, but I haven't opened that app in a long time. You can set your shift points, however I'm not sure about the part throttle ones based on load or whatever it is.
