Ready to look at getting into an ISTA setup. I’ve Run into too many software problems that a wrench won’t solve. What do I need to know?

Here’s where I am currently. First advice was to reset ELV counter (CAS), thus the question about ISTA.

Question for the forum.
idea on when was this made available HFPF 7616194-01? I’m narrowing it to roughly 2007-2008. It’s still in my 2007 335i and is working. Maybe it was replaced under recall years ago?
But I’m in there, with intake off, and think I should replace.
