So what are the main features everyone was hoping for out of Syvecs? I'm sure some can be considered for stock DME implementation
Mainly the PI control. I rather have the ECU control everything all at once. There's other features like rolling anti lag, bluetooth, and launch control but the main thing is PI control.

PI sadly will never be controlled directly by the stock DME because the MSD81 just doesn't have the mosfets / hardware to drive the injectors. That doesn't mean a better PI controller / intermediate box could not be built with DME integration, giving the same end result
As for the other 3 items, I don't see why they would not be possible.
Although I never saw the benefit either as they say you don't know what you don't know. Was excited to try it and see what we could learn. Strange they are aborting now when it sounds like its basically done. How hard is it to add a correction factor per cylinder to the firmware for the injector coding? Shrug.
Still unsure as to why systems couldn't be made to integrate with each other. Would be probably "re-creating the wheel" but, in my mind if you're trying to get something to do what it isn't made to do to begin with you might as well do it the best way possible first.. Regardless of the time/effort it would take. The end results will be much better.
IMHO the best approach is to do as much as you possibly can via the factory DME and then use one intelligent piggyback system to augment the DME's logic/operation for everything else you need. Fortunately such a highly developed and well supported piggyback exists.

Also I'm not sure if this is asking way too much, but integrating a meth safety where the car reacts if your meth injector stops flowing for whatever reason (limp mode or low boost).
There are already methfail safes out there, but anything could be improved on I suppose. I'm sure they will have some meth integration of some kind
Could you link me a good one? My impression was no standalone meth controller could trigger the DME to lower boost if meth stopped spraying.
I know JB4 can do it but I flat out refuse to install one on my car.
Your loss on the JB4.
On your meth safety, lowering boost if meth drops below a fixed level is rudimentary at best. First you should not raise boost in the first place until meth is flowing to a level to support it. Otherwise you're asking for tip in knock during spool and transitions like shifts, DSC events, etc. Then you need to dynamically verify the meth volume and potency injected is providing sufficient octane and fuel volume for the tuning levels. Then you need to dynamically verify bank to bank fuel trims are not deviating to an unreasonable level. If meth flow is reduced to a lower level but above your "safety threshold" the tuning should react accordingly and if meth does suddenly stop just cutting WG duty is a slow response. You'd want to instantly cut timing and close the throttle in that situation. And don't forget to cut methflow during a misfire condition!
The HSF4 can. Its based off actual flow through a sensor and not theoretical. It basically just cuts the signal to the WG or bleeds pressure off, which ever way you hook it up. Its about to way more advanced here really shortly.
this would be the next logical step for flash only progress. i'd donate again for this and i dont even need it (yet).
HFS4, Snow Performance Stage 3, any several others I could name all have failsafes.
Not sure why everyone sends to think the JB4 is the only solution with failsafes.
I also have a couple other solutions that could work as pi and meth control that I'd used on other platforms. Just haven't found the urge to put them on this car at office yet.
Somewhat related, based on VTT DI progress, it would seem the next point of hardware progress is competition in the HPFP upgrade market... Better market acceptance of shotgun style solutions would cut the need for PI to a very few.
They just need more people on it. There is basically no one running the "shotgun" (name change might help, it's corny as hell). But I'm strongly considering the single barrel. The only thing really holding me back is what sort of results it can produce on upgraded turbos/single turbo with e85 mixes
Depends on your goal. The single supports 600whp on e85. On Race gas 800whp+
